bit-tech Review
"At the moment though, Intel’s Core 2 processors are simply a better choice to base a new build around because they’re generally faster, more overclockable and less power hungry than AMD’s relatively competitive Athlon 64 X2 products. If, however, you’ve already built your system around AM2 and are just looking for a speed upgrade, the X2 6000+ is currently the fastest AM2 processor available and probably the last K8 to be released before Barcelona shows up later this year." - 22nd February 2007

Time with product: 2 Weeks
Strengths: Fast, stable, affordable
Weaknesses: Your PSU can overheat if it is under 600W
Summary: It's a great CPU. I got it to replace an outdated Semptron 3000+ that I got for this PC originally. For my MoBo, the highest supported CPU is supposed to be Athlon 64x2 @ 5400+, but this processor upgrade has been running with no problems at under 52C, so I do recommend it.Currently I use it mostly to run all my Adobe CS3 programs, Office 2007, Safari, SlingMedia, Azuerus and video files in DivX, Xvid, Mkv, MP4 and OGM files SD and HD quality without slag. The extra RAM and large defraged HDs help a lot too. Overall, I do recommend you getting this processor for a fast, stable and affordable upgrade experience suitable for today's needs. I don't do PC gaming, so I can't comment on that, sorry.

Time with product: 2 Months
Strengths: As quick as a 3 gig dual core should be.
Weaknesses: Apparently a factory-overclocked 5000+ X2 from looking at processor wattages.
Summary: These run WAY too hot for serious work (e.g., video encoding). Both of my X2 6000+ machines overheat. One runs at 60C, the other at 70C and I don't dare overclock. Going back to Intel after 15 yrs.

Strengths: unbelieveable - I don't know how I did without
Weaknesses: none
Summary: This processor is unbelievable. How I managed before beats me - constant hesitation but this one never holds me back. You would have to understand I do quite a bit at a time: word, video rendering, scrapbooking, photos, faxes, notes, vista, etc. Not to mention the video rendering speed (along with my dual 8800 (728) video cards) blows my old machine away. :p

Time with product: 3 Weeks
Strengths: Overclocked easily, runs cool with stock sink and fan
Weaknesses: Vista 64 bit did not recognize it. 90nm technology
Summary: The processor is really fast. I can multi-task without any problems. Have this overclocked to 3.4Ghz. Super fast for video editing and games. Runs less than 40 degrees C on a full load. That is with the stock heat sink and fan. Great CPU. Totally worth the money. I would definitely buy it again. [Asus M2N32-SLI, AMD 6000+ Windsor, 4GB G.Skill DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800, XFX Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb, 2 WD 750gb sata, OCZ modExtreme 900W)

Time with product: 2 Months
Strengths: Very stable at both stock FSB and at 295 times 11 over clock.
Weaknesses: None so far, still testing max over clock possible with air cooling.
Summary: This CPU was recognized and ready to run immediately with ASUS M2N32-SLI MoBo. Very fast and stable from install with stock HSF. Changed out to the Enzotech Ultra-120 and temps went way down at stock. Now over clocked 20 percent and still as stable as stock. Excellant CPU with very nice Level 2 cache. AAA+++
