The MSI P6N SLI Platinum is well suited for high-end pursuits such as gaming, graphical and video work. The board uses the NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI chipset which supports the latest Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Duo CPUs (as well as older Pentium D and Pentium 4 LGA775 socket-based CPUs) and its dual PCI Express slots allow for two NVIDIA-based graphics cards to be installed in SLI mode.
bit-tech Review
"Depending where you apply value depends on whether this motherboard is right for you to start with. It's certainly not an all rounder. If you just want great stock performance from a good looking, stable-as-a-rock motherboard then this should certainly be in the mix to buy. However, if you're looking for a cheap, overclocking fiend, you'll need to check elsewhere. MSI just didn't display that to us here." - 28th March 2007

Strengths: Tons of features
Weaknesses: None seen so far.
Summary: Picked up this board for a q6600 and 4gb of ocz ddr2-800 ram. Nice heatpipe to draw heat away. I like how it has 2 IDE since I haven't upgraded to all SATA drives yet. It has run very stable so far. I have yet to overclock, so I can't comment on that yet.

Strengths: e-sata port, pretty solid if not overclocking. 7.1 HD audio was great, replaced my creative lab live external.
Weaknesses: Overclock ability seems unstable, Nvidia driver seem to have a conflict with Netgear/wireless programs, experiencing some crashes. Jumper markings on the board are confusing, had to look in manual.
Summary: I read several review experiencing problems with high voltage memory. So to compare 2.2v Crucial Ballistix, which said did not work, but OCZ 2.1v works fine, plug it in and it'll start.

Time with product: 4 Months
Strengths: Stable, great OC, solid capacitors
Weaknesses: None to speak of.
Summary: After looking around for the best board for my current CPU, E6750, as well as for future CPUs, I needed a motherboard that had two IDE ports since I didn't want to give up my two IDE burners and IDE hard drives. This board was perfect for that by having two IDE ports. The motherboard overclocks nicely and is stable with cooling for the north bridge and south bridge. I currently have all four memory banks filled with 1GB modules and I have no problems at all. Highly recommended.

Strengths: The position of the intefaces (SATA, RAM, etc.) are perfect for my Antec 900 case. Instruction manual was easy to understand...great for someone's first build. Compatible with Corsair XMS2 TwinC4.
Weaknesses: BIOS is a bit tricky. I had a hard time figuring out how to set RAM voltage, on the display it was grayed out, but you can actually modify it. I/O plate was a pain to fit.
Summary: 1. Remember to plug-in CPU power.2. In SLI mode, speed is downgraded to 8x.3. Make sure to change RAM voltage manually.4. Manually set to FSB1333, if your CPU supports it.I have read somewhere that the lifespan of this board is around 7 months. I'm assuming those who got that problem either overclocked their board too much, or they weren't careful when building the PC and actually fried some of the mobo components.Had some problems attaching an arctic 7 freezer onto the board...I dunno maybe it's just me.

Strengths: SLI boardMSI's New DualCore technology which allows automatic overclocked (Works by only OCing when needed)1333 FSB and Dual/Quad core capablePassive cooling and fan if needed
Weaknesses: 40mm fan that comes with the board is fairly loud... but it is easily replaced with a silent fan or not used at all.
Summary: This is a very good motherboard. It has pretty much every feature that your average computer enthusiast could need unless you are seriously into OCing or tweaking. SLI tech with slots for 8GB of memory, Dual OR Quad core up to 1333 FSB, automatic OCing, passive cooling and a 40mm fan for NB for OCing or water cooling. No compatibility problems. Great board + great price = Great buy!
