Rating: Comment: Oh my days! Never have I ever heard of an internet based seller asking for passport and drivers licence copies to be sent to them before ALLOWING you to buy from them! I used a credit card to pay along with mastercard additional verification registered to my home address. Yet eBuyer want the most significant pieces of information that are required for identity theft? No chance. Whoever sets policy here is not in touch with reality. Total bunch of jokers who will be bankrupt very soon so dont risk your money with them! Any good reviews on this website must be false as I cannot see how anybody can buy from them.Have tried to reason with them as the product I want to buy is far cheaper with them. Will soon be out of stock and my order will not be processed as I am not willing to give them my passport info! |

Rating: Comment: personally i have ordered from ebuyer more that 10 time and so has my friend and his family all order from e buyer.com for all there computing needs and me and my firends and a few people i know at college have never had any problems with ebuyer.com and these people have been doing it for years I do think it is a little silly that they would need a photo copy of my pass port but i have ordered from there so many times that i have already Technically trusted them with my credit card details address etc so to be honest whats a photo copy of a passportand i think people are more inclined to complain rather than complement so the bad reviews here are most probably 0.001% of what e buyer are like because like i said i know so many people that use e buyer and have done so for so long its quite hard to believe that people ever have had trouble with it but every one makes mistakes |

Rating: Comment: The sort function was less than spectacular usually refusing to remove the most popular items from the top of the list. Some items appeared on two pages but with the same price which is plain confusing.Item descriptions were eroneous in one case (see reviews of aleged DVI TFT screen) and unclear in another (DVI was listed as optional but no details of how to include the option or at what price. |

Rating: Comment: Site is slow, locks up from time to time and can be confusing. Managed to find a product through the search facility that did not appear to be listed in the sub categories. |

Rating: Comment: Ive never been prompted to write a review before, but then Ive never been asked to fax my passport to a shop, simply to buy something from them! Quite unacceptable! In a bid to stop online fraud, Ebuyer suggest I fax my passport to them!! Of course they say they will destroy it, but what guarantee is there of that. Anyone could make a copy. After several phone calls, and Enotes to the site it seems that they will not budge. so it seems like this will be one less customer for them to worry about.I expect there will be a trend of formally-happy customers, who will not agree with their new security measures |

Rating: Comment: Ordered PC memory on 24/7/08 which proved to be faulty and raised RMA request. Ebuyer wanted me to call a 0870 number to discuss this. I raised an enote stating that I did not want to have to pay for a call when the item was faulty. Waited a week and eventually ebuyer accepted my RMA request. I asked for a direct replacement part. I asked because their stock was getting low to reserve the part for me. I got no response and they ran out of stock. I then received an email saying that they would be getting some more memory back soon and I got an email saying that they had placed an order of a direct replacement. I then got another email saying the order had been cancelled (19/08). On 20/8 the part is back in stock and more expensive. I do not want to pay more for the same item I had originally ordered a month ago!!! All I want is a direct replacement part for my original faulty goods. Am I asking too much? |

Rating: Comment: Tried ebuyer again after not using them for ages due to payment hassles.. only to find that nothing has changed. My order (for under £50) was being delivered to my registered card address, and had gone through the HSBC card verification process. Yet for some reason, this is not good enough for ebuyer, and I was required to send a copy of my passports first page, or a copy of my driving licence to some fax number. Which is just not going to happen. In the process of sending this data, how am I to know how many people are going to have access to it? What confirmation am I going to get that this data is going to be destroyed? (apart from some vague promise from ebuyer). The answer is simple: Avoid the hassle dealing with these bunch of idiots and the risk of having your identity stolen by a bunch of Nigerian scammers. With any luck, with customer service like this, they will go the way of Boo.com etc and evaporate. |
