Weaknesses: Must convert midi files to a BiaB "style" and it may not sound the same after conversion. Summary: BiaB 2004 is a very good accompaniment program, but it has its flaws. For those who are expecting to load the program and go, it will come as a big surprise that you need to really dig down into the guts of the application to get something decent sounding. The canned "songs" that are loaded into the program are pretty old style with a heavy leaning toward AOR, Easy Listening and Jazz and Country. Rock players will find very little to immediately jam along to. Of course, if you buy the standalone "Rock Guitarist" module, life is much easier, but you can still arrange the existing "styles" in BiaB 2004 to come up with a decent sounding backing track. BiaB 2004 is very feature-rich and I can't say that after two weeks of playing around I've touched on every bell and whistle. The new version ships with a bouns disc containing a decent sequencer, Roland VSC software synth and a playback application that allows you to slow down riffs. If you have a PC, then BiaB is probably the best accompaniment program you'll find. Mac users should stick with Garage Band.
