Strengths: Durable, totally water-proof, full functionality of the camera

Summary: You can use this case to take underwater shots at depths of up to 40 m (130 ft.). Of course, it's also ideal for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes. It's a really great all-weather camera case! Highly recommended!

Strengths: Air-tight seal, fully accessible & functional buttons

Weaknesses: Adds bulk to such a sleek camera (but still worth it!)

Summary: SO this is the 2nd underwater casing that I've bought from Canon. (I had to replace my former one because I got my S400 stolen last year. But I got good resale value for it.) Therefore, I was very familiar with the reliabilty of Canon's cases. As I stated in my review for the WP-DC800, it's well worth the investment, if your apt to purchase disposable underwater cameras for $20 and spend another $20-30 in developing the pics and you end up with 1 or 2 good pics. Esp. if you're an avid water fanatic (ie. snorkeling or diving!) This case DEF. adds to the functionality of the SD500 and allows you to do so much more with your camera!!

Strengths: Clear lens, great view of LCD, Great insurance for camera.

Weaknesses: No protection for case lens.

Summary: This underwater case is great. Very easy to use. All features of camera are still available. Sound in movie mode is very quiet due to tight seal of case but that is to be expected. This case allowed me to get great pictures when I normally would not have my camera with me. Picture with case come out just as clear as without case. I've used this case in the lake and at the pool already. Even just being around kids spashing in the pool it's worth having your camera in this case. I would not trust my expensive digital camera to any other case other than Canon. In short, well worth the money.
