Summary: As expected, original equipment for Sony is the best. I've tried after market products, only to be disappointed with their battery life. Seems like they wear out 50% faster than genuine products. This is a great battery for the video flash, since it is compact and does not add an inordinate amount of weight to the front of your camera. However, if you seeking a backup for the camcorder itself, you will never be disappointed with buying a bigger battery, like the NP-F770 or the NP-F970. They cost more, but you have peace of mind when you are in the field on a video shoot.
