Genus is a revolution in oven technology and a revelation in your kitchen. A top of the range multifunction oven in its own right, the big surprise is the big reduction in cooking times using the Genus function ? up to four times faster. A roast chicken in 35 minutes instead of 110 minutes ? Genus carves off 75 minutes. A frozen pizza in 7 minutes instead of 30minutes ? Genus slices

Time with product: 1 Year
Strengths: Good cooker when it works.
Weaknesses: Has broken down three times in a year. Stoves are extremely unhelpful. Buy any other cooker from any other manufacturer.
Summary: On paper, a very good oven. In fact, when it's working, it's brilliant. I can see why Which gave it a best buy.Clearly Which's test didnt extend for any period of time.Apart from the unreliable product, my main problem is with Stoves. Since this is a "Genus" oven, they have very few engineers (I suspect one covering the whole of the south of England) who are qualified to work on it. First appointment is 16 days away. And that's just to come and have a look - I suspect getting any parts and getting them fitted will take another week.Just steer clear.

Time with product: 1 Year
Strengths: Hasn't worked long enough to tell
Weaknesses: Spectacular unreliability. Company that doesn't seem to care.
Summary: Promises much, but beware. We've had ours 1 month & had 8 faults with it. 2 complete failures ( 1 half way through cooking a sunday roast), faulty fan, faulty control panel, door not fitting correctly, Grill coming on for no reason....... it just goes on. Stoves flatly refuse to replace unit (apparently it hasn't broken down enough for that!!!!!!!!), & are incredibly unhelpful. I would steer clear of this product. I've since seen other reviews mentioning unreliability.

Strengths: Brilliant for cooking things quickly
Weaknesses: reliability
Summary: Bought this in May. All excited to start using the genus functions. Switched it on and the fan just ran and ran and ran. The only way to stop it was to switch it off at the mains. Engineer came and replaced the power board. Speaking to him I found out that they hardly sell any of these due to the price and also that only a few engineers are actually trained on how to use them. He left and all was working. Two weeks later half way through roasting a nice chicken it stopped working and another engineer is booked for this Friday leaving us without a oven again. Stoves don't give compensation for anything so we got nothing for the loss of dinner plus now giving food away to friends as we cannot cook ! Great idea and if it was reliable would be a great buy especially for a busy household. The saga for now continues.....
