Strengths: Great new long adventure with some awesome new legendary pokemon!
Weaknesses: Pokemon Emerald includes Sapphire and Ruby so there is really no point to buy Sapphire anymore...
Summary: Pokemon Emerald includes Sapphire and Ruby so there is really no point to buy Sapphire anymore... Overall I was quite dissapointed by that but I still love the game. Still imported some great pokemon from this game into Diamond and Pearl so if you have Diamond and Pearl for the DS this is an awesome game to pick up!

Strengths: gameplay, sound, storyline, abilities to fight.
Weaknesses: graphics
Summary: it is a great game and i would recomend it. the only problem is there is no real way to trade to complete the pokedex so you would have to have the nintendo ds and either diamond or pearl to comeplete the game. Also you would not be able to obtain the event pokemon in this game.

Strengths: Typically deep and involving gameplay.
Weaknesses: Level-grinding, slow pace.
Summary: Pokemon Sapphire is another excellent entry into the Pokemon series. The gameplay is as solid as ever, with a motley assortment of new characters, Pokemon, and items. Fans of the series will appreciate the opportunity to catch some Pokemon that are unavailable in Diamond and Pearl.

Strengths: Awesome graphics!!
Weaknesses: Lacking the cool stuff.
Summary: The graphics in Ruby and Sapphire are much better than is the older versions. The pokemon look much realler, when before (like in blue) Chansey looked drunk. (So did most of the others) One thing I wish it had is the pokegear you get in gold, silver and crystal. I also wish it became night. Also, in Crystal when you encouter a pokemon, or look up it's stats, they move, which in Ruby and Sapphire they don't. Sadly, I'd say it needs a way to go to Kanto and Jhoto, that way you can catch many other pokemon. (Besides the ones you can catch) I'd say overall it rocks! I reccomend you try it.

Time with product: 8 Months
Strengths: New pokemon, TMs, HMs, attacks, new story line, and extremely addictive.
Weaknesses: No Johto or Kanto. A lot of original pokemon missing.
Summary: A new expirience in a new world with new characters. Two on two battles are now a must. Starting to get tired of the Elite Four though.
