Comment: Mercantila appears to be a holding company for a basket of on-line vendors. Unfortunately, even the companys corporate website does not disclose the names of their specific shops. Consistent with our experience below, any links on the corporate web site except BUY, lead to nowhere. If you order from any storefront name that ends with "Superstore" I would suggest finding out who owns them before placing an order.Either a very poorly run company or a scam. By phone you can only place orders. Anything else, they actually hung up on us. No email, on their site or via their one email confirming the order. None of the links on their web site work except to take orders.Our credit card company simply charged them back after we ordered over $1,000 from them and were in total limbo as to the status of the order.

Comment: I ordered Legare 43 inch Office Computer Desk on Sept. 26, 2008 by phone. I knew that this desk is out of stock in many stores, so I asked their sales person to check that they really had it in stock. He confirmed that and assured me that the order will be shipped within 5 business days. They charged my card the day I ordered the desk. This was the only thing they did without delay. The desk has never been shipped. I tried to reach someone who could answer questions about my order for 5 days. Nobody calls back if you leave a message and they do not let you talk to anybody in the customer service - you are on hold forever. I received an answer only when I promised to the sales person to report to a credit card and start an investigation . After that they said that unfortunately they do not have the item in stock. They just charge your card and use the money. They lie to you and they know what they are doing.

Comment: DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED OUR ORDER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE SHIPPED WITHIN 48 HOURS FROM THE ORDER DATE WHICH WAS A MONTH AGO. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DONT ANSWER THEIR PHONES. THE CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED IMMEDIATELY BUT THEY SHIP WHENEVER THEY WANT.

Comment: I ordered a barstool 9/11/08 with an expected ship date od 9/25. The item never shipped in fact I contacted the manufacturer and the order was never received by Mercantila yet they charged me immediately. I have cancelled the order several times on their website yet it still shows up as active. I spoke with several people who insisted the refund would be processed that day, still nothing. I have placed numerous additional calls and they just leave you on hold yet pick up immediately if you select new orders! I would never buy anything from them again no matter how discounted it is. It simply is not work the risk of dealing with them.

Comment: Ordered a glass top coffee table from them 8/3/08. they delivered the table base on 8/19/08, but the top was broken and the FedEx guy didnt even put it on his truck. On 8/20/08 Mercantila said theyd send out a replacement. by 8/27/08 it hadnt arrived. No response to email, mercantilas phones not taking calls. 9/5/08 I got an email from them apologizing and promising to update me with tracking info. 9/8/08 I received tracking info but it showed that the table top was delivered back **to them** on 8/29/08 because they addressed it wrong. No response since. No table top. Nothing except a charge on my credit card and a table base that is utterly useless to me without the top. These people and their hundred or so shill domains are scammers and need to be stopped. I am considering filing an action with the FTC. Their BBB acc. was revoked on 8/26.

Comment: NEVER EVER order from this company. I ordered a Schwinn Recumbent Bike as a gift but found out 2 hours later that the person couldnt use it so I emailed Mercantila immediately through their website to cancel the order. I never heard back. I called the next morning and there is no actual person to talk to. I left a message with all the information and the fact that I emailed the day before to cancel. Two days later someone left a voicemail for my mother to verify the shipping information. Both my Mother and I left messages back for this person that the order had been canceled and we never heard back. Needless to say, this product was delivered to my parents house. Fortunately I had called my credit card company to ask what to do and they told me to have my parents refuse delivery. My mother said the box was falling apart and even if the order hadnt been canceled she would have refused it because it was probably broken. The following month a charge appeared for the entire amount.

Comment: I was so excited to find the swingset I wanted at Mercantila (through the Kettler Store) and with the additional 10% off, it sweetened the deal. Let me tell you, with all the troubles that I have gone through, I would have rather paid that 10% extra to someone else!It started out ok, I placed my order, although it took 3 times because the website wasnt working correctly.A week later, I noticed they had already charged my credit card the same day I ordered the swing set and of course expected the swing set to have been shipped. Its been 3 weeks, and it hasnt been shipped. On top of that, it was supposed to be "No payment No Interest for 90 days with Bill Me Later" which they didnt do. I decided to contact them on 9/7/08 to find out where my order was, and they never responded. On 9/10 I attempted to call them and they dont have phone support for orders that have already been made!! Big red flag! I went online and canceled my order. Of course, they still havent canceled it, havent refunded my money or fixed my No interest so that I dont have to pay it off even though I never received it and canceled it (I dont want to pay interest!!).I have since filed a protest with my credit card and filed a complaint with the BBB. Unfortunately, I didnt do my research first...they were revoked by the BBB due to complaints. Dont waste your time with this company, go somewhere else!

Comment: Last I heard from these folks was they processed my credit card. Two months they strung me along with "One more week." Just when I was going to cancel their status page gave a 8/11 ship date. The following Friday, without notice, they credited my money back. I had to track down "Josh" the sales manager down to find out they cancelled my order. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CLOWNS! They flirt with fraud and finance their company on the float of your money for a few months on merch they have no intention on delivering.

Comment: If there was something less than a star I would rate it that. I ordered a rowing machine from what I thought was the Kettler Company weeks ago. After I placed my order I noticed that my invoice said that my credit card would have the name Mercantila on it. I didnt think anything of it until, weeks later and no merchandise. I wish I had seen these comments earlier. I have not been able to speak with a real person about my order. I have left voice mails in hopes that someone would call. I only received generic emails telling me that they are looking into my request. This company has already billed my card for the order. They done that the same day I placed my order. I would strongly advise you not to use this company. I believe this company is a fraud or at the very least a poorly run operation.

Comment: I suspect the few good reviews posted here are posted by Mercantila. Mercantila appears to be either a scam or a very poorly run company. I ordered a $1400 treadmill from the Treadmill Store. I never received the treadmill and could not contact anyone at Mercantila via email or telephone. Stay away from any of Mercantila web sites.Update 8/10/08: After a month and no response from Mercantila, the treadmill was delivered to me. The Lifespan TR-2000 treadmill is a very fine product. The delivery service was excellent. It is too bad that Mercantila Customer Support does not respond to its customers. Moreover, Mercantila (i.e., on the Treadmill Superstore website)provides a telephone number and email address for customer support, however, it does not respond to either. So after a few weeks, a customer will assume the company is pulling a scam. Although I love the treadmill, I would never knowingly buy another product from Mercantila given their lack of customer support.
