Black & Decker KEC600 Ergo Cordless Can Opener

Rating:

With its cordless freedom, this can opener "walks around" cans of any size and shuts off automatically. Lightweight, it recharges in its compact base and opens over a dozen cans on a single charge.

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Handy, Easy to use, Easy to clean Weaknesses: None Summary: I have had my Ergo for I think about 7 years now. The rechargeble battery has finally come to it charging end. I have been searching in all the stores in my area for another one because I want to replace it. I do not want any other can opener. This is the best I've ever had. I went on B&D's website and was so happy to find out that they do still make them. But I just can't find a store that stocks and sells them. I can buy it on line directly from B&D and other places also but I was just trying to defer shipping charges. If I can't find it in the stores, I will order on line. |

Rating: Time with product: 6 Years Strengths: Easy to keep clean. Fairly quiet operation. Any size can can be opened. Doesn't become another appliance on countertop to keep clean. Lid never got stuck in mechanism. Weaknesses: The cutting mechanism lever is plastic and this is what broke on both that I had. Leaves sharp edges on can lid once removed. Summary: I really like this can opener. I am now searching for a new can opener and will probably buy this model again because it is so easy to keep clean. Sits in a recharger. Cutting mechanism comes off easily for cleaning, however, the plastic leaver should be made of heavier plastic. |
