Rating: Time with product: 3 Years Strengths: Makes great ice cream that refreezes well. Weaknesses: Poor material in motor and gear setup. Annoyingly loud. You absolutely cannot have a conversation in the same room with this beast. Bucket is made with cheap soft-wood, not cedar. Summary: I've had two of these. I purchased the first one in 2007 and it made maybe 20 batches of ice cream before the gears stripped out on the motor. I bought another one. The replacement motor is $150, while the entire 4 qt outfit is $169. Bought the full outfit, for a spare bucket and cannister. This one stripped out the gears during the second batch of ice cream. White Mountain is obviously putting inferior parts in their motors. Will not purchase another one. |

Rating: Time with product: 1 Week Strengths: very solid machine Weaknesses: none Summary: this produce is excellent quality. It meets all our expectations. It is very simple and easy to use and our whole family has enjoyed making the ice cream from this fine machine. It beats all ice cream that can be found in the stores. thank you for such a fine product. |
