Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Lots of pokemon to catch Weaknesses: WIRELESS ADAPTER NOT INCLUDED AS ADVERTISED Summary: The kids have no complaint with the game itself. It is basically an upgrade from the original red. The graphics are better and there are additional pokemon to catch as well as some new areas to explore. Recommended to all those who have been hit by the Pokemon craze. My big complaint however is that it was advertised as containing a wireless adapter and it was not included. |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: still the same solid collect-em-all rpg quest Weaknesses: still the same solid collect-em-all rpg quest Summary: If you are late showing up to the pokemon party, it's still a great time to start. The basics (everybody knows this by know): roam around as a kid collector and add to your pokemon collection by defeating pokemon. That's basically it, and the simple RPG-gameplay still works as well as ever. Just don't expect high-end fantasy pathos here and you'll be fine. Watch the cartoons once or twice and you'll more or less know what to expect, except without the deeper story (well, OK it's not that deep either). A decent chunk of time for questing, coming in at 30 or so hours is another positive. Graphics are colorful and sharp so no complaints.BOTTOM LINE: If you wanted to own this, you probably already do or you borrowed your kid brothers, but if you haven't tried the whole pokemon thing yet, give it a try, it's fun. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Days Strengths: Addictive gameplay Weaknesses: Level-grinding is a necessity; Slow pace. Summary: Pokemon FireRed is a superb remake of the game that started the craze 10 years ago, Pokemon Red/Blue. FireRed also has a plethora of new content, including new islands and the appearance of many popular Pokemon from Silver/Gold. The gameplay is just as fun and rewarding as ever, though the slow pace is also present. Definitely a must-play for portable RPG fans. |
