One of the most terrifying survival horror games of all time...Resident Evil 2...comes to the NINTENDO GAMECUBE system. In chapter one, the case of the disastrous T-virus outbreak?a muta-genic toxin for use in biological weapons?was eventually closed but the experiments were far from over.

Strengths: multiple paths and stories

Summary: This is my favorite game in the resident evil series. I think the story is the best and it is the scariest. I hope everyone buys this game

Strengths: Runs better on the Gamecube console.
Weaknesses: The fact that it is a direct port with practically no enhancements, except for some very slight ones.
Summary: Resident Evil 2 is regarded by many to be the best in the series thanks to the alternate paths, storyline, and more of an action focus. Sadly, the Gamecube version is a direct port of the PSX version that just runs slightly better on the Gamecube system, resulting in slightly smoother graphics. The only other thing that has changed is that they have the voice of the guy from the REmake and REØ to say "Resident Evil 2" instead of the older voice from the PSX version. This is not a bad game at all, but the fact that it was simply ported without any extras is what really makes me give it a low score. Capcom should have gave us something extra with it.

Strengths: Incredible gameplay
Weaknesses: Dated graphics, expensive
Summary: If it wasn't for the now infamous Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 2 would still be the greatest game in the Resident Evil series.... maybe it's just that Leon S. Kennedy factor! The game is still as scary as can be to this day, and is only mildly hurt because of the dated graphics. The bigger problem is that this is a hard game to come by; very few copies of the GameCube version were printed. However, if you've never experienced this incarnation of the series, you owe it to yourself to play it, considering it's one of the greatest survival horror games of all time. Worth every penny, and then some.

Strengths: Two characters to choose from: Leon and Claire.
Weaknesses: Dated, No added features or enhancements: graphics, controls, or sound.
Summary: Still fun. Glad of the re-release and lower price. Although I still think it should be $20 and no more. Wish it had the extras found in other ports (DC, PC, and N64). I'm an RE fan so I gave it 4 stars rather then 3 stars if your not an RE fan.

Strengths: One of, if not THE, best of perhaps the best gaming series ever. Great tension, suspense, this game does a great job of bringing you in.
Weaknesses: PS1 quality graphics with only minor improvement for this GCN version.
Summary: Yeah! I was able to finally complete my Gamecube Resident Evil collection when I found this game. This is the rarest of the GCN RE games, and I got it for a great price from one of the vendors listed on Pricegrabber. While the graphics are not jaw-dropping gorgeous, they do a fine job of conveying the creepy, scary tension at the aim of any RE game. There are improvements, most notably the GCN version runs at 60 fps and overall smoother graphics. The sounds and suspense provided by the games audio really set the mood.A must for any survival horror fan, or any gamer in general!
