Summary: There is a reason this game is called Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil--it is not a sequel to Doom 3. In this installment, which is an expansion pack to Doom 3, you play as a Marine who has discovered a mysterious artifact that ultimately leads him to hell. If you played Doom 3, you will notice that many of the areas you will be visiting are the same. There aren't many new changes, except for some new enemies, new weapons such as the grabber, and the incredibly cool double-barreled shotgun which can take down most powerful enemies in one or more shots. The previously mentioned artifact can be upgraded, but its main purpose is to slow down time so you can evade/get more attacks in. The graphics are identical to DOOM 3, and so are the sound effects. The extras alone make this game worthy of purchase, as you have access to the original DOOM, DOOM 2, and DOOM 2 Master Levels. Though the game is on the short side (I clocked in at around 7-8 hours) it is well worth it if you loved DOOM 3. Not a five star game--that belongs to DOOM 3 (so if you are deciding to get this or DOOM 3--get DOOM 3 first then this) but still gets an excellent 4 star rating.

Summary: DOOM RESURRECTION OF EVIL is a first person shooter for the XBOX. This game takes place right after the terrifying events of Doom 3 on Mars. U are a nameless Marine grunt in a Mars archeological dig site and due to a mysterious Artifact being touched, it has once again unleashed demons that run amuck and rampant throughout the red planet. This game has the same weapons as DOOM 3 with the addition of a double barreled shotgun and a gravity gun like in Half Life 2, which not only lets u pick up environmental objects and throw them at enemies, but u can also catch fireballs thrown by the demons and lob it back to them, thus conserving ammo. U also have the Artifact, which gives u super powers that help u against the demon army. These powers are bullet time slow motion, powerful Berserk punches, and invincibility. This game is full of scares and jump out of your seat moments, so I really recommend getting this game.

Strengths: If you're a fan of DOOM...more DOOM. Great visuals (for the XBOX), DOOM & DOOM 2 included for good measure, the double barrel shotgun is back.

Weaknesses: If you loathe DOOM...more DOOM. Simple gameplay, short play time.

Summary: Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is basically an XBOX port of the PC expansion pack of the same name. Like the original DOOM 3 before it, Resurrection of Evil manages to be a great port of a high-end PC title to the XBOX. The single player games manages to be very short-lived (less than 10 hours), but it manages to supplement this with some pretty good multiplayer modes, as well as the original DOOM and DOOM 2 in their entirety (these were previously included with the collectors' edition of DOOM 3). The action is fast and furious, as usual for the series, but it's over in record time. If you're a DOOM fan, you can do worse, and it's a good time while it lasts.

Weaknesses: Very short story-mode campaign; no co-op play; limited multiplayer

Summary: For those of you who played Doom 3, this is an expansion pack for that game. This add-on is just as amazing looking and sounding as that game and is pretty much more of the same gory action that you've come to expect from this series. While this is considered an add-on, it doesn't add much to the series. You do get the original Doom games as a bonus, but other than that don't expect anything new. If you played through Doom 3 and want some more action of the same kind, then pick this game up. Otherwise, you can do without it.

Summary: Doom3 Resurrection of Evil is the expansion pack that was ported from the PC of the original Doom 3. ROE has good graphics for the xbox considering that to run the PC version took a highend computer. The multiplayer compenent is pretty decent. The game has good gameplay. Overall, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is a good first person shooter.
