With the Jenn-Air JGD8430AD 30" Designer Line Gas Downdraft Cooktop, time in the kitchen has never been easier. This cooktops primary feature is its Downdraft ventilation, which prevents smoke, steam, and odors from invading your kitchen and the rest of your home, thus eliminating the need for an overhead hood. In addition, the Glass Ceramic Surface provides sealed burners that are built directly into the surface to eliminate the burden of cleaning hard to reach burner bowls. The JGD8430AD also offers its Flame-Sensing Feature, which ensures that the burner's flame stay lit for the entire length of your cooking experience.

Summary: Totally renovated our kitchen, and I was looking for everything LOW maintenance. Previously we had a builder grade oven/stove/mw combo that was 14 yrs old. Nothing cooked right, burners were tough to clean. Hated it. I guess anything would be an improvement, but I really did the research on this to make sure it was what I wanted. Didn't want matching stainless, as there are little crevices to clean. And of course, needed a downdraft. Heard glass is the way to go. And I believe that to be true. Just pick up the 3 pieces and wipes down the smooth surface. All the grates lock into place, so nothing shifts when cooking. The vent is very powerful, and pretty easy to hook-up, as my handy husband did it. We really do love it! Makes cooking and clean up a snap!
