Summary: Nintendo GameCube Platinum Console is not very limited at all. It is just that it is available in the platinum color with a matching platinum controller.The GameCube console is a great starter for children. Not only it's cheap (well under $100), there are tons of games geared towards children, ranging from Mario themed to Sonic the Hedgehog games.One drawback for the GameCube console is that the platinum color, while it looks great, can wear off pretty easily. Another drawback is that support and products for the system is drastically shrinking due to its official replacement by Nintendo's next generation console "Wii" (which can also play GameCube games). Accessories and games are getting hard to find at stores too.

Summary: Bought this item for an 8 year-old. Good fit for her age group without hundreds of dollars invested. Addition of more control units is an important add-on. We are pleased with our choice.

Summary: The Nintendo Gamecube is a classic gaming system. From Paper Mario to the Sonic Games; there are games to be played for all ages. The gamecube has a great price for a brand new system. It's worth getting a gamecube now while their all gone. All of the accessories and the games are a great price too.

Summary: I bought this gamecube at sears for 49.99. I am not a big gamer and do not feel like spending $300-$500 on expensive gaming consoles. The gamecube has a lot of games that are similar to wii and I just love to play mario and just bought it for that. You do need to buy memory acrds to save games and also extra controllers. the games can be found for $5 - $10 each and are just fun to play. I must say that gamecube has a good gaming experience for fraction of the price.

Weaknesses: Only a basic console.

Summary: This console offers a tremendous value. This a great starter console for children. I have two nephews and the older one started with this system. When he graduated up to the pricier video game models, he passed it down to my younger nephew and he loves it. I am not a big gamer but I really like this console because it is easy to set up and use. It isn't flashy...just a lot of fun!
