Summary: can not import files from windows based quicken without several issues. Waste of money. Had hoped to make a clean break from windows having bought a new Mac, now looking into VM software to run windows software on the Mac

Strengths: Simple to use

Weaknesses: None-Do not use stock values updates.

Summary: I have been using quicken for many years. I use it to keep records of many different checking accounts. I also use it to write my checks. At the end of the year I print out a detailed list for income tax purposes.

Strengths: Integrates online accounts easily

Weaknesses: Does a terrible job reconciling accounts and tracking bills. Cash flow tracking is abyssmal.

Summary: Does not compare to Microsoft Money products. For a small business or consultant, Money Small Business is the way to go because it seamlessly combines personal and business finances. Quicken took hours of time, and kept making mistakes. Hard to use. Money was simple...not without problems...but a pleasure to use. Money is not available on Mac. I'd look elsewhere for an accounting solution for home.

Weaknesses: Contrary to advertising, MacPro 2007 will NOT import any Windows version of QuickBooks if there are any memorize reports or transactions. Only very basic files convert.

Summary: Don't expect to share company files between QuickBooks for Windows and the Mac version unless you have a very basic, simple company file. Tech service is useless: their advice is to delete all memorized transactions and reports, delete merchant services; delete assemblies, delete, delete, delete... and then maybe the windows version will import into the Mac Version. Far from their advertised program feature.
