Summary: A large capacity doesn't do you any good if it is not trustworthy. This unit is extremely slow when it does save and it will corrupt your game files. Lost Guitar Hero III and Metal of Honor to name a few. I went back to original equipment.

Summary: I don't have any other memory cards to compare, but is it normally this slow to save/load? It's great though--I just leave it in for all the games. I don't have to worry about which card goes with which game. One size fits all. Except this card is an odd shape. It won't fit into the card holders inside the game cases without modification. I just cut a couple pieces out of the holder and it fits okay. Other than these things--it's a must have.

Summary: Datel 64mb memory card has 8 times the storage capacity of Sony's 8mb card. I've personally not experienced any problems using this card for game saves. When these memory cards go on sale you can usually pick up one for the cost of Sony's 8mb card with 8x the storage.

Summary: Sony set a high water benchmark with its single $25 PS2 memory card and $40 two-pack memory card sets back in 2000. Poor gamers have since had to struggle to afford several of these expensive items for memory-hogging seasonal sports titles, but Datel has an answer for this problem. Among its large capacity third party PS2 memory cards is the 64MB model, eight times the size of Sony's 8MB original. While Datel's 64MB version retails for $35, most stores regularly put it on sale for $20-25, effectively matching Sony's price. With superior storage space at the same price, Datel's 64MB cards looks like a sure winner. To store the larger amount of data, Datel's 64MB card uses high compression rates that have created compatibility issues with a handful of games. I have never experienced this, but I've read about it online. Also, the 64MB card's odd shape (slightly longer than Sony's card with a rounded edge) means it won't fit into PS2 game case snap-in holders, a minor inconvenience. Game system memory cards have long been a problem for gamers on a budget, but Datel now offers a reasonably-priced alternative to Sony's expensive original. PS2 owners have to buy memory cards to save their progress. If you have a choice, purchase Datel's card before Sony's. Just make sure you buy it on sale rather than at regular price.
