The story of Final Fantasy XII takes place in a world called Ivalice, in an age when magic was commonplace and airships plied the skies, crowding out the heavens. War was on the horizon. Seeking to strengthen its base of power, the great Archadian Empire had been invading and subjugating its neighboring kingdoms one by one. The small Kingdom of Dalmasca was one such kingdom. Our story follows Vaan, a young man living on the streets of Dalmasca?s Royal City of Rabanastre, the Princess Ashe, the sole remaining heir to the Dalmascan throne who had been given up for missing, as well as Vaan?s friend Penelo, the sky pirate Balthier, Balthier?s partner Fran and many more on an adventure through Ivalice that traces the mysteries behind the Archadian Empire?s invasion.

Time with product: 3 Days
Strengths: Nice ambiance.
Weaknesses: Utter, utter tedium.
Summary: I had seen people playing FF games many times over the years and, on account of the apparent tedium of the gameplay, I had never felt compelled to participate myself. But then, I decided to practice a bit of humility and assume that something loved by millions must have some virtue. That I simply couldn't 'get it' from a cursory glance. WRONG.

Strengths: Great story, graphics and sound
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Final Fantasy XII is yet another installment of the Final Fantasy series that are well known for its great stories and battle systems. I would say that Final Fantasy XII does not disappoint. The battle system has received some major revision and requires some time to get used to. For one, it's real-time combat instead of the traditional turn-based system.Graphics is excellent on the PS2 console. Sound is awesome. The gameplot is typical of Final Fantasy - epic and majestic. There are lots of side quests to explore besides the main story line. You may need a strategy guide to go through all the side quests. This game is a must-have for all RPG fans. I'm happy with it and eagerly waiting for the next installment on PS3.

Time with product: 4 Months
Strengths: Graphics, no more turn-based battles, sound, gameplay
Weaknesses: Its not perfect
Summary: Final Fantasy XII is a RPG game for the Sony Playstation 2. This is the twelfth installment of the Final Fantasy franchise and it also makes the biggest improvement in an Final Fantasy game since Final Fantasy VII. The game replaces turn-based combat with real-time combat. No more random battles. Yay!!! Sound is terrific and graphics are great for a PS2 game. Its all great, except that the real-time system still needs a few tweaks. Not a big fan of the Gambit system. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a great RPG with a new twist in an old franchise. I gave this game 4 stars.

Strengths: Amazing RPG adventure, gameplay, graphics & sound
Weaknesses: No HD graphics on PS3
Summary: Final Fantasy XII is one of the best recent RPG games that was released on Playstation 2 exclusively. Just like its predecessors in the Final Fantasy series, it features a deep, engaging storyline played out in a fantasy adventure. Although it doesn't have high definition graphics, it is still top-notched given the limitation of the Playstation 2 hardware. Sound is amazing too and does give the adventure an epic feel. Gameplay is excellent as you would expect from the Final Fantasy series. The battle system has changed from a typical turn-based RPG into something else, something that works pretty well for the game. Final Fantasy XII is loaded with side quests. There are tons of side quests that you can explore besides following the main story. There are so many that you almost need a strategy guide to play them all. Whether you are a die-hard fan of Final Fantasy, this game is a must for all Playstation 2 owners. You can't really go wrong with it.
