Strengths: easy to use, cleans great, can do very large loads
Weaknesses: spin cycle a bit loud, heavy to move, sometimes clothes can get a bit tangled.
Summary: replacing a 21yr. old maytag for a more energy efficient front loader. So glad I did!! I can't believe the difference in how this cleans my clothes (makes me wonder what we were walking around in)!! Was a bit worried at first at how little water and detergant this uses, and how much you can really put in there. I wash for five people and was doing 8 or more loads of wash a week. Now i'm down to about 4. Would it really clean my clothes?? Yes, it really does no matter what the size load it is!!!Even my husband can feel the difference in how his grubby work clothes look and smell(that in itself was worth the buy). I wish the heavy load cycle would have more water temp. options other than just hot, but for heavily soiled loads, I just add an extra rinse and up the soil control. I figure it still is saving over my old washer even though most cycles take longer. I really like the delicate and hand wash cycles too. They seem to be very gentle on my clothes. Yes, the spin cycle is a bit on the loud side, but my washer is in the basement so it doesn't bother me. It is a washer after all. The clothes spin out really dry so my older dryer really doesn't have a problem keeping up with the bigger loads. I did a really big load of blankets and it all turned out great!! I do dry out the rubber and leave the door open as recommended, and it only takes a few extra seconds. I can hear the end cycle button just fine too. This washer is very easy to use, cleans great, and I would highly recommend it!!

Strengths: Front loading, much quieter than our previous washer, uses very little water, cleans the cloths properly.
Weaknesses: Bit slower on washing times than our previous washer
Summary: We have had our washer now for about 1 month, and at first I did not think it was putting enough water in, but these front load models are much more efficient than our old top load washer. Our drying time was reduced by at least 30% because of the faster spin cycle. We had our previous kenmore washer for about 20 years, We did our research and this was one of our picks, and so far we are very happy with it.

Time with product: 20 Days
Strengths: Gentle on the clothes, quiet and use very little water comparing to my old washer.
Weaknesses: Takes a long time to finish a load. More than an hour.
Summary: This is the best washer I ever had. It cleans clothes very well and very gentle on the clothes. I put handwashable clothes in the washer and they come out nice. It uses very little detergent and saves a lot of water. The only problem is the time of cycle. Normal cycle takes over an hour to finish.

Time with product: 7 Weeks
Strengths: The size of the drum, quiet and vibration free, accessibility of the wash load, ease of operation, ease of installation.
Weaknesses: It is very heavy. Navigating it up stars required two very strong men. Specialized repair people will be needed when the time comes to replace something. Parts are expensive.
Summary: This washer replaced a front loading Frigidaire Gallery that was a huge disappointment in every way. The new Maytag gets clothes super clean. I wash with cold water a lot and love the option of having extended wash time and extra rinses. I especially love the tilt of the drum which makes unloading the washer very easy. My choice had to include an inline water heater because our hot water is on an on demand system and takes a while to deliver hot water. It makes a huge difference even in the warm setting. I find the gentle cycles very gentle. This washer was well worth what i paid for it. It has an energy star rating which I needed and the extra capacity (4.0) reduces the number of loads I do in a week. In general, a very fine machine that I have no trouble endorsing.

Strengths: Cleaner clothes, dramatic water savings, less loads for a large family.
Weaknesses: Noise when washer is rebalancing (otherwise, very quiet)
Summary: My wife and I purchased this washer and dryer combination one month ago, as our old Maytag top loader and dryer were over 12 years old. Although still functioning well, we were motivated to buy a new set primarily to reduce water usage, and we have been happy with past Maytag purchases. Most of our comparison shopping was done on line. We focused on durability and were looking for just basic features in a front loader. We sought out models that have the highest customer satisfaction rankings. We are very pleased with this washer (and dryer) The styling is clean. Although they can be stacked (with an optional stack kit) or placed on the storage pedestal, we are happy with them on the floor. The tilted wash basket makes a great deal of difference to reach in and access clothes. There are 12 cycles on this model, more than we seem to need, and sometimes more than the machine will let you use. It seems if you select some (for example, heavy duty), it limits your options like the water temp cannot be reduced from hot / cold setting. There are 5 spin settings, ranging from none to extra high. Extra high is up to 1,200 rpm and your clothes will come out virtually dry. It was an adjustment going from a top loader to a front loader. We were in culture shock for a short while, but we have been convinced. Our clothes are cleaner. They come out of the washer much dryer. We use much less detergent. We use much less water. We have gone from doing 7 or 8 loads of laundry a week to 4 in the larger capacity machine. However, the loads do take longer, and socks still seem to disappear. We have had none of the problems reported like musty odor, but keep the washer door open when not in use. There are a few things we don't like. The 'cycle end' signal is too quiet, almost useless. The estimated time remaining varies so much, we find it unreliable. There is no start delay feature, which was offered on many other models we looked at. The matching dryer (MED 9700SQO)works equally well. It too is quiet, has 5 automatic and 3 manual drying cycles, and 5 temp settings. The end-of-cycle alarm is too quiet (like the washer) but it has some nice features, like a drying rack and interior light.
