Strengths: Boils water very fast; handle does not get hot; attractive design; water level indicator on both sides in 8 oz. increments; 7-cup capacity; convenient.

Weaknesses: None.

Summary: I'm very pleased with the Braun electric kettle. I boil water for a number of things, including coffee, instant oatmeal, instant soup, herb tea, hot cocoa, and Postum. I'll boil water at least two or three times on an average day. Boiling water on the stovetop was always a kind of drawn out affair, and I was never quite sure if I had the right amount of water in the kettle, so I would overcompensate and would consequently wait longer for the water to boil. The Braun electric is to boiling water on the stovetop as computer word processors are to electric typewriters. I was concerned that the hot plate would get hot on the bottom and that I would have to put a hot plate under it to protect the kitchen counter, but it does not get hot. I would recommend this electric kettle to anyone who needs boiled water on a regular basis.

Strengths: Fast, Clean not expensive

Weaknesses: Smells funny while new. No available in darker gray color.

Summary: Bought this as replacement for the very similar kettle, which we get used to. Everybody likes it. It boils water in about 4 minutes, which is good because we drink tea a lot:) This one was made in Chezch republic not in China, which is good also.I wish it was little bit darker, not black but gray.The color of the transparent window on the side is not gray as on the picture but rather blue, which looked odd at the beginning, but it does not really matter.And also, while new water smelled plastic, really strong. I was almost ready to return it. But after week or so, smell went away, and now it is not a problem anymore.

Strengths: This is a great electric teakettle! We're very impressed with the high quality of the materials; the instructions are easy, but clear about use and care; and there's even an anti-calcification filter!

Weaknesses: The only weakness we can think of is that the cord (which is excellent - very heavy gauge) is black, which doesn't really go well with the white/pale gray of the kettle. Not a big deal at all.

Summary: This kettle has everything we need ? it?s easy to use (lifts off a sturdy base), easy to fill (either through spout or lifting the lid), and easy to see how much water is in it. In addition, there are 4 ways to ensure automatic shut-off, so you can feel safe to leave the room when it?s on. And, it is fast!!

Summary: My wife drinks a lot of tea she uses my coffee pot to boil water.Yuck.So this little item solves both our dilemmas being faster than my coffee pot& her tea doesn't taste like coffee.

Strengths: The kettle can be removed from the base for filling or use while the base remains safely plugged in.

Weaknesses: There are no weaknesses in the operation and usefulness of the kettle.

Summary: The Braun Teakettle is the best item of its kind available. It is efficient, safe, and simple to use. I have several and give them as gifts which people are always pleased and delighted to receive. I dropped the kettle an broke the top assembly so ordered a replacement kettle. My only disappointment is that the color accents to the white kettle which I expected to be dark gray are blue.
