God of War saw Kratos, a mortal warrior, set upon an epic quest to dethrone a God. But his journey did not end there. In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War, far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal or god has ever changed, his fate. God of War II sets an epic stage for a devastating mythological war to end all wars. Players can utilize their favorite combo attacks from God of War along with a whole new set of moves and magic. Magic is based on nature's elements which include utilizing the power if wind, ice and much more. God of War II features more puzzle solving, where players must solve intelligent, challenging and progressively more complicated puzzles latent with brutal elements that are intricately woven into the overarching story. Players will continue their previous experiences in the dark, violent world of Greek mythology and test their agility through more levels as they traverse treacherous, often brutal terrain that will range from the undiscovered Sisters of Fate to the Dark Swamp and more.

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Gameplay,Blood, violence, action, character is nearly naked(seriously that skirt is almost too sexy) Weaknesses: Lack of boobs Summary: In this epic sequel, we see Kratos as the new God of War, fighting the Colossus of Rhodes, engulfed in a Burocratic trade dipute with the "banana chiquita" transational. This thriller action game takes you several epic scenarios such as the Sisters of fate temple, the Ruins of Cartago, the Central Market in Downtown Chepe and the Foridden swamps. In this adventure you'll face minotaurs, skeletons, cyclops, teletubbies, yoshi's, and muppets. The highlight of this game is when you finally defeat zeus and just before you gave him the final strike, athena gots in the way and you kill her. (don't read the above sentence if you haven't played the game yet.) |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Takes everything from #1 and improves upon it Weaknesses: camera angle at times Summary: God of War II picks up the story exactly where #1 left off. The gameplay and controls are exactly the same, but they have added a few new weapons for Kratos to use. On top of that, there are bigger, better, and badder boss battles for you to enjoy (and more of them as well). The animation and graphics are amazing and the gameplay just doesn't get better than this. The only semi-annoying thing that I encountered in this game is that the camera angle tends to get hung up around certain corners, making seeing certain ledges, etc. somewhat difficult at times. Other than that, I thought the game was perfect. Definitely a game for everybody 10 and up. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Strengths: Epic gameplay, graphics, music Weaknesses: Absolutely none. Summary: God of War II is a worthy sequel to the successful God of War. It follows the epic story of Kratos as a mortal warrior to dethrone a god. The gameplay is awesome and engaging. It has the same control as the first GOW, having both regular battle system as well as context sensitive control. The graphics is simply amazing. Rich environment and detailed texture. The soundtrack is great too as it really helps building up the atmosphere in the game. The game comes with a DVD full of extras including making-of and various features.God of Wars II is a worthy game in everyone's PS2 collection. Do yourself a favor and pick it up. |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Great game, awesome graphics, excellent gameplay, story. Weaknesses: N/A Summary: First off... if you haven't played the first God of War, you have no business playing this game. So before continuing, make sure you've played the original. That being said-God of War II is yet another great game. It is just a continuation of the first game with only very minor changes. The gameplay and graphics are the same as the prvious installment. The storyline continues right where the first game left off. There are bigger and badder boss fights, new weapons, and cool new moves. If you haven't played the God of War series, you're doing yourself a great disservice. This series justifies the purchase of a PS2. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Days Strengths: (1) Awesome game, even better than 1st God of War (2) Exciting pace, keeps your interest as you are moved from one memorable event to the next (3) Great graphics! Weaknesses: (1) Violent content may turn off some Summary: First off, if you have your PS2 (or PS3) hooked up through Progressive Scan enabling Component Cables, hold down the following combination of buttons before the game boots up to access a higher resolution mode: L1 + L2 + L3(Thumbstick button) + Square + Circle (simultaneously). You'll know if it works because the text that first pops up will be purple. Now, you will have a higher res image if you select Progressive Scan mode (better than normal Progressive Scan mode). It make a big difference and the game is much better looking although you have to deal with some "screen tearing". After a little while of playing you get used to it and don't even notice the tearing. The game is beautiful and the art direction is fantastic. The story is well integrated with the action and the fighting is much more interesting this time around. The puzzles are harder, too. A lot of them require you to think "outside of the box". Many solutions to the puzzles require you to think more about how you would "cheat" at the puzzle in real life, rather than what the nice clean solution would be in a regular video game. The choice of weapons are better in this game, however, you will still most likely rely on the Blades of Athena for 90% of the game - similarly to how the Blades dominated in the last game. Overall, this is an excellent, thrilling game. |
