"As you've read, we had loads of fun with Guitar Hero 2 and highly recommend you get it. If you can't afford it on your own then get your friends to buy it collectively, it just needs to be played!" - 1st December 2006

Strengths: Awesome controller, awesome songs
Weaknesses: Nothing really
Summary: This is one of the best games to be released in the past year or so. Harmonix was able to better themselves with the sequel to the original GH. They redesigned the controller to make it more responsive (and you can tell) and added some new multiplayer modes to make the playing field either more balanced or exactly the same, depending on who you were playing with. The songs still deliver, and theres more than before. This is a game you can come back to over and over again. Don't forget to break it out during parties!

Strengths: More songs, better multiplayer experience than the first game, which was great to begin with.
Weaknesses: A couple weak songs and some covers that are not as good as others.
Summary: This is really a perfect sequel to the great original Guitar Hero. There are more songs, many of them very good or great. The two player experience is much better as there is now co-op play with one person playing lead and the other playing bass or rhythm. The competitive play is better as well with the introduction of pro-face off mode. The guitar controller feels the same as the original but might be slightly quieter. Overall it is a great product and definitely worth a purchase.

Strengths: Harder than first, more options and features, practice mode, red guitar, very fun
Weaknesses: Song selection could be more diverse, only 2-player game, graphics never been amazing
Summary: I just got Guitar Hero 2 and it is just as fun if not funner than the first. They made some necessary changes and additions to this game. One of the best additions is the ability in multi-player for each player to choose their own difficulty. Practice mode is also a great addition. The game is also noticeably harder than the first. I was struggling on some songs songs on Expert from the first two batches. In the first GH, I was able to cruise through most of the songs on Expert minus the last 5 or so. As for the song list, it appears that most of the songs are "older". There also seems to be more metal. I wish it could have been more diverse and had some more recent songs. Overall, this is a great game and one of the best party games ever.
