It is particle board with a high quality laminate. It is NOT Veneer! The advertisement is a lie. Summary: I was very upset when I found that it is particle board and laminate, not veneer. To its credit it is the nicest laminate I've ever had in the cheap Walmart/Target type build-it-yourself particle board furniture. Just make sure you know what you're getting. We feel it's a fair price for what it is, but it definitely is not what we expected. On the plus side we're still very happy with it now that we have it set up. The packaging is done very nicely.
