Strengths: Impressive load time/graphics.authentic metal gear experience.cut scenes/ voice acting.soldier recruitment.gameplay.must own.control.

Weaknesses: expansion for the US cheaper.confusing/ hard to master controls.

Summary: Metal Gear Solid Portable Opts is the Metal Gear Solid game that PSP owners have been waiting for. No more card games, but the stealth action game you expect. Portable Opts also has an engaging storyline that MGS fans will instantly get wrapped up in. The main story comes complete with some excellent cut scenes and voice work from original MGS voice actors. In terms of game play, Portable Opts offers something new to the MGS universe. In Portable Opts, Snake can capture soldiers and recruit them for your cause. Recruiting soldiers turns out to be pretty fun and adds a lot of replay value to the game. Though far from perfect, controls for this game are very solid. This is a nice addition to the Metal Gear collection, and a must own for PSP owners.

Strengths: Metal Gear story, graphics, gameplay

Weaknesses: None

Summary: This is by far the best Metal Gear Solid game on the Sony PSP system. It's true to the console version of the Metal Gear Solid games in terms of story progression and game play. It delivers a true MGS experience on a handheld platform. What's lacking is the absence of cut scenes that fans come to love on the console counterparts, and the fact that there is only one analog stick on the PSP requires some adjustment to the overall control of the game.A new expanded version of the game is recently released and is called Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus. Athough it is largely an expansion to the game, it doesn't require the original game to play.

Strengths: +lots of characters to be found from snake eater+has high replay value as missions can differ+great soundtrack

Weaknesses: -storyline may be lacking-limited inventory for item selection-controls may seem a bit weird

Summary: If your a metal gear fan, this is a great title to consider. As all other metal gear games, the stealth and sneaking missions still applies. For the soundtrack depending on which mission you are on, the soundtrack seems to change randomly, they can seem pretty dramatic as well. If you decide not to get this game now, portable ops plus is coming out soon, but that game will not have story mode. This game can also be played online for even more replayability!

Time with product: 1

Strengths: Storyline, graphics and extremely fun to play

Weaknesses: control scheme

Summary: I think this is the best MGS game for PSP. It is much better than Acid series, because it has better graphics, better storyline and more PS2 MGS games like. But since it is for handheld game, its control is a little confused. Overall it is one of the best PSP game and I love playing this game. Highly recommended!

Time with product: 2

Strengths: Thought-provoking storyline, deep single player campaign, full online/multiplayer support, solid graphics & audio, recruit your own army

Weaknesses: No FMV cutscenes, complex control scheme, no blood

Summary: Metal Gear fans has become somewhat ravenous for their sequels since Metal Gear Solid appeared on PSone. Of course, many MGS fans falsely hoped for a true sequel in the Metal Gear Acid card games, but Portable Ops actually delivers on the promise of a full-size console Metal Gear game on a handheld system. Portable Ops provides all of the complex storytelling that you've come to expect from the series. Snake and his recruits have all of the moves and abilities of the console games, and Portable Ops includes most of the online features that debuted in MGS3: Subsistence. Unfortunately, Portable Ops lacks the flamboyant computer-generated cutscenes that console sequels have enjoyed in recent years, and game play can be tricky at first without a second analog stick. Still, any metal gear fan should pick this game up immediately as it's easily one of the best games of any kind available for the PSP.
