Rating: Time with product: 99 Strengths: None at all! Weaknesses: Systemworks Basic 10.0 refuse to work. Summary: I have used Norton products for more than 20 years. I have never been so frustrated with software!First, I purchased the Norton Internet Security / Norton Systemworks download. Systemworks would not work properly. I went through all the suggested steps advised by Symantec. No improvement.I returned the downloaded software and purchased the DVD bundle of the same products. Installation went smoothly, but Systemworks would not work. Again, ran Symantec's removal tool (as recommended by Support) and reinstall everything.Systemworks Basic 10.0 still refuses to work. I trashed it and replaced it with my old Systemworks 2005 - which works fine. |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Antivirus, many system utilities Weaknesses: Resource Hog, incompatible with Windows Vista Summary: As with most other norton utilities/protection software, Norton SystemWorks is reliable does it job in blocking viruses together with other system checking utilities. But it also seriously drains computer resources and I uninstalled it in the end. Installation and uninstallation also are not as easy as it should have been. |

Rating: Time with product: 8 Years Strengths: 1. It's Norton; Anti-Virus works as it promises and I have never got any virus problem here. 2. Easy to install and utilities are great for fixing MS -windows problems Weaknesses: Annual installs are annoying; I just hope the subscription is there for longer period of time. Summary: Well, the reason that I bought the Norton systemworks is that, one, I like the Norton Anti-virus software, and two, I like the windows-utilities parts. The antivirus section is the best one that I have seen. CA, Mcfee,...etc are not as good as the Norton and they are harder to use. In past eight years of Norton experiences, I have never have any virus infections nor any other related breakages. It's very reliable and works as it says. The windows utilites are time-saving software that saves you time on fixing windows problems. It fixes registery, removes invalid links....etc with one-click. Ever since I have it installed, I don't need to re-install my windows as often as I had needed to be before.Overall, I like it and it works as the retail box labeled; I recommend this to everyone. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Months Strengths: Keeps my machine clean Weaknesses: runs slow, install Summary: I decided to first delete my old SystemWorks 2006 before attempting the installation of the new CD SystemWorks Standard. I had to delete some of the files manually inorder to get the install right. Once installed the program runs slow but does the job. I guess we have to pay a price(performance wise) inorder to protect our computers. |

Rating: Time with product: 6 Months Strengths: plenty of useful application Weaknesses: resource hog, uncompatible with Win Vista Summary: Useful application, but not compatible yet with Windows Vista, even with the latest patches. Resource hog, very large memory and harddisk requirements, can slow considerably a less powerful system. On the plus side includes all the needed norton applications in one package |
