The locking mechanism definitely feels secure with the various features it provides. The safe also contains predrilled holes on its base and even includes bolts to allow for anchoring to a surface. Although the advertisement indicates insulated walls, there is absolutely no insulation material in the safe other than the metal frame. Overall, the safe should do its job of deterring theft but does not make me feel like it would survive damage to the elements.
