Time with product: 4 Months

Strengths: It is so quiet that I don't even know that it is on. I have to get close to it to hear it.

Weaknesses: None so far.

Summary: I have to say tha Honeywell have out done themselves and finally made a machine that is not noisy like the others. I can hardly her it running. It is also more compact then previous models and doesn't take up so much space. I definitely can tell a differeence in the amount of dust I see in my home too. It helps tremendously with my allergies. I actually own two of these and this was the 2nd one I bought after testing out the first one for several months.

Strengths: HEPA + UV + ionizer + charcoal, extreamly adjustable, good warranty

Weaknesses: Cost of replacement UV bulbs

Summary: There is a lot of information on the web regarding the effectiveness of these ?room type? air purifiers. Some folks like them and some folks hate them. I think it really depends on what your expectations are. No air purifier on earth will replace the usefulness of thorough house cleaning! After you do your homework, if you decide to get one of these units THIS is the best overall unit out there. There are less expensive units that look very similar (even other Honeywell units), but none have all the features available with the HHT-145. That said, this Honeywell unit is one of the better models that you can get without stepping up to a whole-hose unit at a very high price. It has all the features available in an air cleaner. HEPA filtration, UV light sanitizer, Ionization, and even a special charcoal type odor filter. One of the strongest features of this unit is its ?adjustability?. You can turn the oscillation on or off, tons of fan speeds in between high and low that can be easily set for your size of room or time of the day. The charcoal pack can be installed if you want it or left off it you don?t. The UV bulbs can be turned on or off depending on your requirements while the rest of the system is running. The HEPA filter is cleanable (vacuum) and does NOT need to be replaced 2 or 3 times a year like many other models. This alone is a major plus. It also has a very sleek appearance and the nicest looking LCD control panel out there that is very user friendly. It also has one of the best warranty?s I could find. The only downside of this unit is the cost of the replacement UV lamps. These are quite expensive and I don?t know why. If you don?t need the sanitizer bulbs running all the time just set the timer to turn them off. Continuous use will get expensive, especially if you really don?t need them on all the time. Functionally I give this unit 5 stars, I don?t think its fair to cut off a star because of the cost of the replacement UV-lamps, but you need to be aware of this in advance.

Strengths: More quiet than previous models, as I can barely hear it. Oscillating featue is great.

Weaknesses: I haven't found one yet.

Summary: I have been using Honeywell air purifiers for a while and since I have always had pretty good luck with my current units I thought I would purchase a new quieter model to see if it would work effectively with out all the noise and boy was I surprised at how quiet the unit is as I don't think I would even know it was on if I weren't standing near the unit. I also know that the warranty service with Hoeywell is pretty good as I had to get a replaced for a unit I had for about 4 years and all I had to do was call them and they sent me another one. I did however have to send them the old unti, but for $10 it was worth it than spending $100 on a new unit at the time.
