Weaknesses: stack kit doesn't match other brands; expensive for a dryer; "nose" makes it stick out further from wall--tight in a closet

Summary: I got this dryer as a return from Sears for just over $500. I was considering the LG equivalent but bought this one and saved $300. It dries clothes well and the automatic cycle seems accurate. The controls are easy to use, and the drum light is useful. My only complaints are regarding the sizing of the unit. Whirlpool chose to add a stylistic element to this dryer, and the door sticks out 3 inches beyond the front of the dryer. This made for very tight space in my laundry closet, and I had to adjust the closet door so that it would close. Also, the various manufacturers all have their proprietary stacking kits, so I cannot stack this on my LG washing machine. It's very expensive for a dryer--they add several hundred $ for a "stackable" dryer over the old-fashioned, top-control units. I was lucky to get a sweet deal. I think the LG is a better buy, but I have not directly compared their performance.
