Rating: Time with product: 2 Weeks Strengths: Quiet operation, appears to be pulling a lot of moisture from our basement. Weaknesses: Digital controls. Summary: The Whirlpool dehumidifier operates quitely in my basement and is pulling alot of moisture from the air. Appears to draw much less current then my older dehumidifier we had. I don't like digital controls over the old fashion knob controls. We have not had much luck with appliances with digital control devices lasting more than 5 years! |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Months Strengths: No icing even when running continuously in the basement. Quieter than my former unit. Weaknesses: Small holding tank, but not a problem if you hook up a drain hose. Summary: Cycles on and off automatically to keep the basement dry while conserving energy. Even though I have a hose connected to drain to my basement sump, condensation still drips into the bucket - but the level has never gotten high enough to shut off the unit. No icing, but have not yet run it during the winter. |

Rating: Time with product: 5 Days Strengths: Surprisingly quiet and Energy Star approved. Weaknesses: Can always be quieter. Summary: This is actually a great dehumidifier. The "Accudry" system keeps the room at a certain humidity as long as the dehumidifier can handle it.And something not mentioned in the specs is that there is a output tube for basements, which is great as you dont have to empty out the tray at all if you use it.One note tho, as with all dehumidifier, you need a grounded outlet to safely use this or else you run the risk of...well, killing yourself. |
