Rating: Time with product: 1 Years Strengths: Feel, look, range Weaknesses: no place to put microphone for xbox live Summary: I've had this controller for about a year now I think, and so far it has primarily been used as the #2 controller whenever I play split-screen. The feel of the controller is really good, its not really hard but feels more rubbery. The design is only slightly different from the S controller made by Microsoft and takes about 30 seconds to get used to. All of the buttons feel and press fine and dandy and the thumb sticks are neat because they have clear green balls under the black pad where you put your thumb, so if you get bored enough you can enjoy about 25 seconds of pure entertainment by watching the innards of the controller. As for battery life, I've only had to change the battery once, but, I've only used it about 15 hours. There is a drawback to all of you Xbox Live gamers out there however. There is no expansion slot on the controller, so, no memory card or Xbox Live Microphone will be able to plug into it. At the base-station thing that comes out about 5 inches away from your xbox, there is a place that you an plug in a memory card or microphone, but you would have to be awfully close to the Xbox to be able to use it. So, if you play within 5 inches + the length of your microphone, go ahead and buy it, otherwise you should look somewhere else. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Months Strengths: consistent design, great response, cordless vibration unit Weaknesses: "sleeps" often Summary: I researched this product a lot, and finally bought a pair of them. They work great, and I like them, but the problem is this:The marketing copy claims they work up to 30ft, even through walls. While this is true, I use mine in a seperate viewing room, about 20ft from the transceivers, and quite often, (about every 15 minutes) they doze off. This happens while I'm using the device, not just when I'm paused or gone to the kitchen or something. I need to get up & go into the next room to the xbox, press the button on the transceiver, & then press a button on the controller to "wake it up." This gets annoying. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Days Strengths: NO WIRES! Light weight, Only needs 2 AA batteries (included), SUPER EASY Installation, No delayed reactions during play Weaknesses: NONE Summary: I have been searching for a wireless controller for my XBox for a little while and was not sure which one to consider. I had read many reviews on different models, and I kept seeing that the Logitech Precision Cordless Controller was getting the best reviews. The LPCC was the newest model that came out from Logitech, and they talked about it being smaller than the original, about the size of the S Controller put out my Microsoft. I discarded the original XBox controller a long time ago for a smaller one. I never played with the S Controller, but went even smaller with the Mad Catz MicroCon Controller. I was a little worried about going to a controller of any larger size difference since I have played with this small one for so long, but I decided to try it out anyway. When I received it, I had to test it out as soon as I got home. What did I find out? It was awesome! It felt great when playing the game. The size was perfect, there was no lag during play, and the reaction to the buttons was a good as any corded controller. As for installation, you can not get any easier! There were 3 steps: 1. Plug the controller's receiver into the console. 2. Put the two AA batteries into the controller. 3. Turn on the console and hit any button to activate. They even include 2 AA batteries with the controller, and to my surprise, they were Duracell! Most of the time, the batteries look and feel so cheap, you throw them away because you know they will not last very long to begin with. As for battery life, they say that a player can get 50 hours with the vibrate feature on and 300 hours without the vibrate. I never use that feature, so I am looking forward to a lot of time with these batteries. I have only used this one day, but it was well over an hour and I saw no problems in the future. This controller has every aspect that I would want in a wireless controller. If you are looking for wireless, look no further. This one is the real deal! I could not ask for anything better. I have owned this controller for almost two years without any problems, until my XBox died. I also purchased one of these for my best friend last year and he is still loves it. It's a great buy. |
