Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Price, Energy savings, Ease of use Weaknesses: NONE! Summary: Great thermostat at a great price. Easy to program and use. Has setting for each day separately (as opposed to just settings for weekday and weekend). Looks cool, nice backlit display. I just bought my second one, been using my other one for a year and a half with no problems. It's just set it and forget it. It also has a nice "vacation" button that you can hit when you leave for several days. It it automatically sets the temp to 50 degrees without changing all of your other preset programs. It's supposed to be installed professionally, but it only has 4 wires. As long as you know how to shut off the power and which wires go to the heater it's a snap to install. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Days Strengths: Easy to install and program.Simple and small modern design. Weaknesses: Backlight doesn't stay on continuously. Summary: I replaced my old manual knob type thermostat with this one. This unit is simple to install. The directions say an electrician should install it, but if you have a screw driver and know basic wiring this should not be difficult at all. There are only 4 wires to connect. The only special tool I would recommend having is a sensor to find which wires come from the circuit breaker and which go to the heater. Any good hardware store has that. The unit comes programmed with a generic schedule and ready to go. After 5 minutes I had that program customized to my schedule. It is very simple to use. The only feature I would change on this unit is the backlight. It has a very nice bright backlight, but it only comes on when you press a button. I wish there was an option for the backlight to stay on continuously. To be honest, I have never seen a thermostat that does stay on all the time. |
