Rating: Time with product: 5 Weeks Strengths: portable; auto evaporation Weaknesses: large compared with window AC; no fresh air intake capability; expensive compared with window models Summary: The air conditioner works fine. I bought this type so it could be easily moved from room to room as needed and to avoid window installation since I rent. The main unit is about twice the size of a small window air conditioner and the exhaust hose takes up quite a bit of space as well. A space of about 3'x3' is needed near a window. The fan mode only moves indoor air. Air is only exhausted in dehumidifier or cooling mode, so if it is cooler outside in the evening and I want to save electricity by running the fan only, I have to remove the exhaust hose assembly and use my window fan instead.Still, it will be useful for really hot days.I will give it a satisfactory rating for now and may upgrade it with further use.08/14/2008: Let me add that the auto evaporation function works as intended. |
