Rating: Time with product: 1 Years Strengths: It is OK to partition hard drives which Partition Magic does too. Weaknesses: It glaring weakness is no support for SATA drives. Todays the motherboards have only one IDE connection and four or more SATA connections but the VCOM people try to disregard it. Summary: I have Ver. 8,9 and now 10 of this product which I try to use the past year. This product is a poor one compared to the previous ones. If you want to partition a SATA drive use Ver. 9 and do not waist your money on this one. The interface design of this product is bad. You go into the partitioning mode and many times an empty screen pops up. No cursor for a half a minute and when it appears you can refresh the screen using it and the screen fills in. I bought this product based on the previous ones hoping a better one but it turned out out to be a dud. After hassle with the VCOM people they admitted this product does not support SATA drive. It has a good feature you can recover the MBR of a windows drive without using the Recovery Console. |
