After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.
bit-tech Review
"BioShock is more than just good, it's a beacon of brilliance in a industry that constantly threatens to become staid, dull and boring. Telling the story of the underwater city of Rapture and the genetic tampering gone wrong, BioShock fuses FPS and RPG elements into a game which will slap lesser developers in the face and show them what can really be done with medium of computer games. More involving than Half-Life with more options than Deus Ex and scarier than FEAR, BioShock is the benchmark against which all other games must now be judged. Rating: 2
Time with product: 1 Day
Strengths: Sucks you into a story that's engrossingly bizarre--also a huge weakness of the game (read on)
Weaknesses: Immoral "decisionmaking"
Summary: Life's hard enough without purposely "entering" a pretend world that, according to the game designers themselves is, "terrible." I regret playing this game and wish I hadn't exposed myself to these images of mutated and mutilated little girls. This game is, in one word, horrific.

Time with product: 2 Months
Strengths: From a single player engrossment point of view it has it all....
Weaknesses: No online or multiplay option
Summary: Sublime..... The further you delve the deeper you will want to go. Dark and twisted story line throughout, with a lot of sickness mixed in. Weapons, vending machines, power ups are extraordinary. The look of the game, the immersion into the storyline, the continual twists and turns. This is my all time favourite game, pushs Halo 3, Oblivion, Assassin's Creed all to one side. I pray for one thing more, a sequel....... or two.... Don't miss out on playing this game!

Strengths: A first-person shooter with a brain (good, deep story)
Weaknesses: Eh, it's still an FPS
Summary: First off I'll say I'm not an FPS (first-person shooter) fan. However, Bioshock was different enough for me to give it a shot. It has great graphics, and, even better, great art design. The Art Deco environment of underwater city of Rapture is absolutely stunning both graphically and from a design standpoint. The combat is fairly varied, with different projectile weapons and a force-like magical attack than can be enhanced with items found during the game. You can also hack security systems to attack enemies or to open doors and safes. The hacking minigame is enjoyable and a nice change of pace from the FPS action. Bioshock is widely recognized as one of the very best games available on the Xbox 360. If you are an FPS or action game fan in general it is a no-brainer purchase. But even people who aren't fans of those genres should give it a chance.

Time with product: 2 Months
Strengths: Music; Story; Voice Acting
Weaknesses: Lack of multiplayer
Summary: Best First Person Shooter I've ever played! I've played my share of FPS', but this one takes the cake. The game mechanics are spot on. The graphics are top notch. The music and art direction set an eerie tone. I would recommend this game to anyone that enjoys first person shooters. Sure, there's no multiplayer. However, this is the kind of game that people don't mind watching and waiting for a chance to experience all that Rapture has to offer. If you enjoy FPS' at all, you simply must play this game!! All it takes is a few moments to fully involve you in the twisting, turning, crazy story with it's colorful characters and excellent voice acting. If you haven't, try it now!

Time with product: 4 Months
Strengths: breathtaking environments and graphics,creepy/scary,incredible AI,engaging story, upgrade weapons,20+ hours of play,
Weaknesses: no online support, questionable content,no multiplayer,
Summary: Bioshock is an incredible first person shooter. Stranded in a breathtaking underwater city, Rapture, your goal is to find a way home. That won?t be easy because Rapture is populated with plenty of baddies from Splicers to the Big Daddies. Make no mistake these enemies are tough. A run and gun approach will not work in this game. To be successful in Bioshock you?ll have to use the environment to your advantage. Luckily the way death works in Bioshock, the game gives you the freedom to experiment with your weapons as much as you desire. In Bioshock you?ll be equipped with your standard upgradeable weapons plus upgradeable special powers. Everything in Bioshock has been beautifully crafted, from the graphics to the controls. Despite lack of online and multiplayer capabilities, this is still a must own game for all 360 owners. Bioshock is easily one of the best games of 2007.
