Weaknesses: unreliable and expensive to maintain, Whirlpool refuses to accept responsibility for faulty design.

Summary: KitchenAid Electric Convection Wall Ovens have a design flaw with the Self-Cleaning mode and thermostat. After the self-cleaning mode is complete the thermostat is blown and the oven won't heat up at all, stone cold. I've replaced the thermostat in two ovens of the same design. Manufacturer's instructions are useless: tips like tripping the breaker, re-setting the oven, etc. do nothing to solve a blown thermostat. A service call is required, estimate $250.00, every time you use self-cleaning. The part is about $42.00 and the oven must be pulled out of the cabinet to repair. Summary: This is a very nice oven. It looks stylish and cooks perfectly. The shelf on rollers is real nice. My wife loves the blue interior. Easy to use and the Easy Convect functions works great too.
