The New York Times Crosswords makes a perfect pairing: The intellectual challenge of the New York Times crossword puzzles & the stylus control of the Nintendo DS. Write your answers into each puzzle with the stylus or use a Touch Screen keyboard to enter letters. Various modes of play will challenge even the most savvy wordplay enthusiasts.

Rating: Time with product: 30 Days Strengths: Very Challenging for Crossword Puzzle Fans Weaknesses: VERY CHALLENGING Summary: This DS game is very difficult even at the easiest levels. It is also hard to navigate around the screen because each puzzle is large, so you're flipping around the actual puzzle. I would chose the new CrossworDS game that just came out over this game. The difference between the two is night and day. |

Rating: Time with product: 1 Strengths: Intellectual stimulation, good for long flights Weaknesses: Crosswords are a little too challenging and don't offer enough levels of difficulty Summary: I bought this game when I came across a great deal thinking that it would be great to play on long travels and to unwind after a hectic day. The crosswords are frustrating because they are pretty difficult. There is a 'hint' section that will give you as many letters of the word you are trying to figure out though. I've only played for a few days but there seems to be a large amount of crosswords and I can see someone being able to play this game for quite sometime. Overall, this was an ok purchase and I'm glad that I didn't pay full retail price. |

Rating: Time with product: 10 Days Strengths: Tons of crosswords; Price Weaknesses: None Summary: Bought this for my son as it was on sale on Amazon and he likes to play with word games on his DS. The cross words are a not for his age (6), but they seem to be good for older people. |

Rating: Time with product: 19 Days Strengths: Contain more than 1000 crosswords Weaknesses: Can be very difficult sometimes Summary: If you are a crossword fan, then this is the best game for you. It contains 1000 crosswords from the new york times. So far, this game contains the best crosswords I have seen. The best thing about this game it has a very good replay value. The only real downside for New York Times Crosswords is the fact that if you don't like crossword puzzles in real life, you won't get the maximum kind of enjoyment out of this as one can. Personaly, I like this game very much |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Weeks Strengths: Strong database of puzzles, choice of difficulty level, hint option, correct/incorrect notice option Weaknesses: cannot view numbers when viewing whole puzzle, even "easy" level is difficult Summary: The NY Times Crosswords is a great game for intense crossword puzzlers. Having been familiar with NY Times Crosswords, this game is very close to what I expected. For people just beginning at crosswords, this may not be the game for you, as NY Times Crosswords are quite challenging. I like the option of being able to do the puzzle blindly, as you would on paper, or of being alerted when you have entered an incorrect answer. Also, the hint option is very useful when stuck on a clue. When you are viewing the puzzle at large, you are unable to see the numbers on the grid, so that can sometimes be confusing if you are a person who likes to look at things at large. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy this game and recommend it to serious crossword puzzlers. |
