A remake of the blockbuster survival horror game, fourth entry in the Resident Evil universe not only takes players out of the country on a recovery mission but also into the arms of a whole new enemy. As Leon Kennedy, players will explore a town overrun by cultists, mutants and mind-controlled villagers, using the Wii Remote to aim, fire, slash and avoid oncoming adversaries with intuitive motions and movements. Added Wii Remote and Nunchuck support allows players to immerse themselves in the game as never before. This package includes the original game (with tuned-up control for the Wiimote) plus the playable bonus Ada Wong side-story, The Another Order not available in the original GameCube version.

Rating: Time with product: 6 Months Strengths: fast paced, great graphics Weaknesses: this game could have another level. Summary: This is my son's favorite game. He has 9 now so that means something. He is 13. He will play this for hours. I don't play but I get a minute by minute update from him. He gets so excited. He likes the fact that he gets to play hero and save the girl. |

Rating: Time with product: 2 Months Strengths: The best game of the last generation, improved! Weaknesses: None? Summary: Resident Evil 4 will be remembered as one of the finer games ever released. Originally available on the GameCube, it was ported to the PS2 with additional modes. Now on the Wii, the best of the GameCube version (graphics) and the PS2 version (extras) have been combined into the definitive version with one additional enhancement - controls. The aiming via pointing is a fantastic improvement over the analog stick from previous generations. The graphics show their age a little, but relative to everything else on the Wii library, it remains one of the better looking games.A must-buy for any fans of the series, genre, or games in general. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Strengths: Over-the-shoulder perspective, fun gameplay, nice graphics (for the time), and sound. Wiimote aiming. Weaknesses: Graphics might turn some people off that are picky about such things. Sound is Dolby Pro Logic only, and not true surround sound. Summary: This is the version of Resident Evil 4 to own. This version benefits from the Gamecube's better visuals while containing the Playstation 2's extra content. The Wii Edition also supports widescreen, which previously only the Playstation 2 version supported. The wiimote makes aiming weapons much easier than using analog sticks, but for those that still prefer standard controls, the Classic Controller and Gamecube Controller can be used. |

Rating: Time with product: 3 Days Strengths: Intuitive and imaginative control scheme, Intense action, Lots of bonuses and extras, Bargain price Weaknesses: Inane plotting, occasionally tedious gameplay Summary: Having never played this game when it was released for Gamecube or PS2, I was very much looking forward to trying it on the Wii. After playing through the main game and most of the bonus missions, I can say its status as one of the best action games yet made is well deserved. That said, anyone who has picked up a Wii for casual gaming is likely to find RE4 tedious and frustrating. This is a game that rewards complete dedication, and anyone looking for a game to kill a few hours once a week will not be happy with it. Strangely enough, the bonus missions are much more suitable for casual gameplay, but aren't playable until you beat the main game! That said, those who do put in the hours will be rewarded with one of the best experiences that a single player action game has to offer. |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: (1) This is THE definitive (best) version of one of the best games ever (2) Consumer-friendly re-release/port pricing Weaknesses: NONE Summary: Resident Evil 4 is, in my opinion, one of the best games and most complete experiences ever made. The Wii edition is the best version of Resident Evil 4, which has previously seen release on the Gamecube, PS2 and PC. The Wii edition takes the most sophisticated and visually stunning version (Gamecube) and enhances it with true Widescreen support, re-tooled extra content from the PS2 and PC versions, and a new and more immersive control setup. Resident Evil 4 is my favorite game of all time, and playing through the Wii edition marks my 5th play through of the game (3x - Gamecube, 1x - PS2, 1x - Wii). If you have played RE4 before, you probably know how great it is but may not be conviced that the new controls make it worth revisiting. I highly recommend the Wii version as it offers a fresh way to play through one of the best games ever. This is the definitive version of one of the best games ever, which will serve as inspiration for major titles (Gears of War, for example, though GoW does not come close to RE4's greatness) for years to come. |
