The history of flat bread goes back centuries and various cultures have created their own distinct variations on this theme. Experiencing warm, fresh flat bread, whether it's a soft tortilla, an Indian chapati, or a Chinese moo shoo, offers a very primal satisfaction. This appliance allows you to make your own flat bread very simply and easily, with a minimum of fuss, and a maximum of pleasure.

Rating: Time with product: 5 Strengths: look at my comments!!!!! Weaknesses: Please check my comments!!!! Summary: Okay, I have read all of the other reviews and was skeptical about getting this Tortilla Maker..WEll..I ordered it and it arrived quickly with everything intact. I used it and had not one problem making tortillas. I use a whole wheat recipe and figured out that the trick was to not add as much flour to recipe as it calls for. My recipe called for 3-4 cups and I just used 2 cups of flour. Now, mind you, the dough is sticky but, it is moist and this keeps it from exploding. I rolled the dough balls in olive oil and let them sit 10 minutes and put them on the tortilla maker pressed the lid down and then used the lever and released and raised the lid and waited a few minutes and then flipped the tortilla and let it brown on the other side..These tortillas are moist and delicious!! It saves so much time not having to press the tortilla and then cook it in a seperate pan. I would highly recommend this product |
