Strengths: Anti-static protection (i assume; not tested).Flexible, so less brittle than older chair mats of decades gone by.

Weaknesses: Tends to take a "set": indentation of chair wheels remains, causing chair to want to move back to that one position. Difficult to move and stay in a nearby different position.More rolling resistance than i like.

Summary: If i had it to do over again, i would seek out some masonite or similar material and make my own:* Much, much less expensive* Can be cut to fit my actual application, unlike these "few sizes fit some" factory chair mats* Less rolling resistance* Won't "take a set" in whichever position i was last sitting.Many folks probably prefer the resistance of these factory chair mats, which is reasonably balanced. I actually *like* flying all over the place on a low-friction surface, as was typical of "old school" flat and smooth chair mats.For what it was meant to be, it is working well and doing its job. What i really wanted - an old-style totally flat and smooth rigid surface - seems to have fallen out of favor. So, not so much a fault of the product as a mismatch between what it is and what i wanted.
