Strengths: Cleans great, easy to use
Weaknesses: could be lighter
Summary: I bought the Bissell Steam Mop while in search of the perfect mop. The more i read about this product, the more I knew it was for me. I have Arthritis and cleaning with mops or on my knees, caused me more pain. This steam mop works great, even close to the edges. No more soap or buckets, just wash the pads. I like knowing that the steam cleans deep and fast, with almost no drying time. The first time I used it, I was pushing to hard like an old type mop. My son tried it and showed me just easy it really was."Let the mop do the work.not me" he said.

Strengths: Easy to use, light weight, clean well.
Weaknesses: it left floor a bit wet
Summary: Love this mop, very easy to use.Light weight, clean well. I use it on my hardwood floor and it works really well. My floor used to be stickey from all the chemicals in the floor cleaner and I did not like how it feel when I walk barefoot. Now the floor is so clean and looks really nice

Strengths: Cleans without chemicals and detergents
Weaknesses: Can leave floors pretty wet; replacement mop pads and filters are expensive and hard to find; doesn't perform like on TV
Summary: My Mom saw an informercial for a similar steam mop on television. I think that one was the Steamboy. Through constant and multiple viewings of that infomercial, she got it in her head that the steam mop concept was something she just had to have. That's where I come into the equation. I started off researching the whole idea of steam mops, since I am always very skeptical of infomercial products. There was a lot of praise, some complaints. Then, among steam mops, this Bissell one seems to have the highest reviews on average, so I went with this one instead of the Steamboy from the infomercial, even though the infomercial one also comes with some handheld steaming gizmo. Now, having used the Bissell and having watched the claims made in the Steamboy infomercial, I can tell you that steam mops don't perform the miracles they claim on television. Big surprise, right? (Not.) What it does best is clean without the use of chemicals, so, once your floor dries (because, unlike on TV, these don't really dry instantly and leaves quite a bit of water on the floor), it will feel clean to the bare foot instead of leaving the stickiness that comes from cleaning with chemicals and detergents. This is especially great if you have small animals or crawling infants. On TV, the steam mop instantly removes years of caked-on dirt that normal mops couldn't get. I've yet to see that actually happen, but, maybe if someone has the exact right kind of stain in exactly the right place on the exact right kind of flooring, it might happen for them. People who live in areas of hard water should be aware that they should use distilled water in the steam mop. Otherwise the mop could leave white streaks of calcium deposits, since, unlike traditional mopping, no chemicals are used to soften the water. The mop has a filtering system, but it doesn't filter completely. Distilled water is of course an extra expense. The filters and mop pads are also extra expenses that need replacing over time, and they, like this mop, can get pretty hard to find. Lastly, to go back to the subject, ending up with a wet floor is almost not an option. The mop is very difficult to push around when the microfiber mop head is still dry. Microfiber tends to be tacky. When the mop head is wet, it becomes much easier to move along, but a wet mop head doesn't absorb water as well as a dry one. Thus you pretty much have to wind up with a wet floor...either that or quite a workout.
