Strengths: Standard debits and credits software with job accounting and payroll (tax rate updates extra).

Weaknesses: Lacks user friendly features of QuickBooks and online download capability for financial transactions.

Summary: I have been a user of Peachtree for about 3 years and decided to upgrade to a version that has more standard reports because the included report writer is difficult to use and reportedly will not function with Windows Vista.Peachtree is what I call an "old style" accounting package that supports standard debits and credits accounting. I have an accounting background, but organizations organizations without such experience will find Peachtree accounting challenging and should consider using QuickBooks or other user friendly systems.I would like to have QuickBooks capability of downloading transactions from financial institutions, but it was not worth the cost of changing our system to gain this feature.That said, the product installed on the first attempt on a Windows XP computer and converted all of my files to the new format required by Peachtree Complete.I did gain additional standard reports at a very nominal cost (their report writer is difficult to use, but limited modifications can be easily made to standard reports).

Summary: This software has all necessary features for small businesses and I like all the features this software provides.But it performs tasks a little slow than expected. I hope they can improve the performance on this software.

Strengths: - Upgrade at resonable price after rebate- Program cababilities like inventory, billing, reports

Weaknesses: - Slow performance

Summary: For a small business this program is perfect. Every year they come out with new version. New versions are expensive but Mail in rebate offer makes it easy for us to buy and upgrade.With 2008 one can use Peachtree on Vista however performance is slow. Not terribly slow, but one can see the sluggishness.Features are good like billing, reporting, inventory, job costing etc.Would prefer if Peachtree improves performance bu releasing service pack etc.

Summary: This software is impossible to use on Vista. Opening file, or navigating inside it takes several minutes each. No workarounds worked. No, sorry, one worked - originally it did not open at all, one of the forums helped to fix it. The only thing that is good - software was free (sales tax +) after MIR, which I received in time.

Summary: This software pretty much has all necessary features for small businesses along with some advanced features such as job costing and in-depth inventory capacilities. However, your computer will be slowned down after the installation.
