Rating: Time with product: 5 Strengths: None Weaknesses: Slow, buggy, crashes Summary: Do not buy this program. I'm a long time Paperport owner. If I could go back to using Paperport 9 I would but I'm running Vista and PaperPort 9 is not compatible. Don't waste your money. I'm running a Dell Dimension DIME521 with AMD Athlon 64X2Dual Core Processor 4400 2.3GHZ 2046 Memory Ram 32 Bit Operating System. With only PaperPort 11 Build 11.1 running it takes approximately 5 minutes and 30 seconds to scan 2 pages of my credit card statement 8x10 size using a HP LaserJet 3050 printer as my scanner. I was able to accomplish this task in under 30 seconds using PaperPort 9. This excessive scan time makes this product worthless in my mind. PaperPort 11 needs to be rewritten and ever single PaperPort customer should be credited with a free upgrade. David L. |

Rating: Time with product: 5 Years Strengths: Nice interface, was easy to use. Weaknesses: Buggy, slow. Must pay for tech support, even to email these guys. Summary: Used 8, 9 was great, 10 was slower, 11 is a disaster.Slow as can be on a duo core intel CPU 2 gigs memory. Wouldn't recommend. Wish I would have read the reveiws before wasting my money on this thing.Had a working system, the software now crashes each and every time I scan. |

Rating: Time with product: 11 Months Strengths: User friendly set up Weaknesses: Slow response time; erratic; terrible customer support Summary: I started with Paperport version 8 about 3 years ago. I still use it at home and it is great (no complaints). I upgraded to Paperport 9 and had so many problems I finally uninstalled it and went back to version 8. At my work we went paperless in January and purchased version 9. It worked okay but in a network environment (and we have only 3 users) it was slow and erratic. Nuance was touting Paperport 10 as a major improvement and that it was significantly faster than 9. WRONG. The launch time for an image is slow; the search time is slow; everything about this product is slow. IMO, Paperport 10 has been a complete disaster. We get "program not responding" constantly. Our IT guys have been unable to bring stability to the program and Nuance support is a total joke. It takes about 10 minutes of various prompts and warnings before you get to a human being and then they have no solutions. The solution is simply to dump this program. We are going to make the investment in a high-end program like Laserfiche or Doculex. Paperport seems to have deteriorated and the since purchased by Nuance the customer support has declined even further. |

Rating: Time with product: 48 Months Strengths: Not many Weaknesses: A bunch Summary: Well where do I start, I didn't have any problems until 2 weeks ago. Paperport is very very slow now and I can not get it optimized like it was before it went to crap. Apparently it can't handle a large number of documents from diffrent workstations over a network. As I stated earlier when we got a large number of docs/pdfs on the network it decided to take a dump. When it did that, it did it for no apparent reason just took a nose dive. And when I tried to get help they wanted 19.95 per incident. and your first born :/ This could be a good product but they choose to alienate their customers. I am not sure that is good marketing technique. But what the heck sell it then run when there is problem.Just some fyi for you nuance folks I refuse to reformat my drive to make it work, That notion is nuts.Well thanks for pushing me to another product. |
