Strengths: Great graphics, a large amount of unlockables, varied characters and abilities
Weaknesses: More fun in multiplayer than single player
Summary: Mario Power Tennis brings lots of characters from the Mario universe to play tennis. There are numerous characters to play (most of then unlockable), all with different special moves and abilities. The graphics look great and the gameplay is extremely well done, making the game fun to play just beyond the Mario characters. Gameplay is much more enjoyable in multiplayer than single player, though single player is very fun on its own. It's a must-have for the Gamecube.

Strengths: Good play balance.
Weaknesses: Irritating, non-changing catch-phrases.
Summary: Excellent graphics. Fun, four-player game. Easy to play, but can become more difficult as players get better. Cool special moves for each character. Irritating, non-changing catch-phrases/words for each character grate on me.

Strengths: It's Mario. And tennis!
Weaknesses: Difficulty leaves something to be desired.
Summary: This game disappointed me a little bit, though its still fun to pick up and play once in a while. As a big tennis fan I expected a lot (after all, Nintendo made Tennis for the Gameboy, and that was fabulous). My main beef is that the game is at the same time too easy and too difficult. Its very difficult to hit a "winner", during the normal course of play, but then again, once you build up to your special shot, it can be almost impossible to stop. Essentially you can continue a volley till the AI screws up a shot it should have gotten. But hey, it's Mario, and I love his sports titles. They're silly fun and a good break from the really intense games that I usually play.

Strengths: High replay value, nice graphics, easy to learn controls, lots of characters from the Mario universe
Weaknesses: Can get repetetive
Summary: Mario Power Tennis is a great arcade style tennis game with all your favorite Mario characters. The controls are easy to pick up and the game has a nice ramp in difficulty, so that new players will have plenty of time to learn the ropes. The cast of playable characters is large and just about every character from the Mario games is represented. All the courts are themed from different levels in the Mario games and there are a quite a few fun mini games to play. For example, one mini game has you hitting paintballs at walls to paint large murals. You can play through the game pretty quickly, but there are lots of unlockables so there is a lot of replay value. This is another great game in the Mario franchise and I highly recommend picking it up.
