Rating: Time with product: 4 Strengths: Decent scan time (less than 1/2 hour), easy to use. Blocked all viruses I've encountered. Good product. Weaknesses: Terrible interface, looks like it's Halloween, but hey, if you like the sleek look, it's nice. Summary: Really, this isn't that hunky of a software, only 50MB on your HDD. I would recommend, as I have bought both the 2007 and 2008 version before. Great product. |

Rating: Time with product: Strengths: Works well, includes Anti-spyware,easy to install, 3 User license Weaknesses: system resource hog Summary: I am a loyal Norton AntiVirus user. Norton AntiVirus 2008 makes me feel good. It can block and watch virus automatically. The installation is easy. The easy update makes your software robust. This edition also provides 3 user license which makes me install it on my 3 computers. One problem is that it needs a little bit more system resource, so it makes the system start slowly. |

Rating: Time with product: 1 Month Strengths: It worksSeems faster than prior versions Weaknesses: Still a resource hog Summary: I've used NAV for many years, and have had no catastrophic issues with viruses, so I stick with it. I did not like the 2007 version, as it seemed to have too many nag screens. That has improved with 2008 and my sense is that it is significantly less of a drag on my PC than prior versions. That said, there is still plenty of room for improvement in that department, as many competitive programs are reported to consume far fewer resources. |

Rating: Time with product: 1 Months Strengths: does its job Weaknesses: slowed down my computer Summary: I've been testing various anti-virus programs to find the best one for my desktop and laptops. Norton has a pretty big name in this field so I got this one. The installation and usage were simple. It worked fine. It did report some viruses when I was scanning some files from public machines. It's annoying that it also kept reporting when I was some other programs which are absolutely not malicious. And it took a lot of resources of the machines. I uninstalled it eventually. |

Rating: Time with product: 1 Days Strengths: Protects 3 separate PC systems, robust virus database, seamless definition updates. Weaknesses: The one-year license starts on the date of your first system install. Somewhat of a resource hog. Summary: I've been using Norton ever since I started using computers and never go without the virus protection. I've used other Norton packages that have the anti-virus protection built-in, but I never seem to use the other bundled utilities, so I think the standalone Norton AnitVirus package is the best. It's nice that I can install this software on a total of 3 separate computer systems, but the one year of updates start on the date you first install it on one system. So, be sure you're ready to install this software on all 3 computers on the same day, otherwise they all won't get the full year of updates and protection. |
