Time with product: 4 Weeks
Strengths: best value on the web. didn't need auth key.
Weaknesses: can't think of one really. didn't come in a jewel case?
Summary: got exactly want i wanted and needed. . i not only got win 98, but 98 SE with service pack one all on the same CD. didn't have to fool with installing 98, then get online and download everything else. huge time saver.

Strengths: Installed on an old computer with a 120Mhz processer and 64 mb of ram. The sound card drivers were built in to this OS so I didn't need to look for them. Works very well.
Weaknesses: Sometimes you might need the original OS disc to install drivers for different add-ons like an ethernet card. Also, IE7 will not run on this OS, IE6 connects to the net though.
Summary: Made a ten year old machine useful again. I would buy again. The machine doesn't have a dvd or usb ports so I can't comment how well they work with 98.

Strengths: Win 98 has been a pretty good operating system and it is fairly stable.
Weaknesses: It has become obsolete and is no longer supported by Microsoft
Summary: I have an older laptop that will run with Win98, but probably not anything newer. I got the Win 98 so that I was running on a legal version that could be registered to me. I haven't been able to get a PC card to work that has USB ports in it. I thought the Win 98 would allow me to get the PC card to work. The only other thing is that it is the computer, NOT the Win 98 that is the problem.

Strengths: Upgrade from W95
Weaknesses: No longer supported
Summary: I have an aging laptop with w95 OS that is used to interface with the onboard computer of vehicles ( OBD II ). I wanted to add wireless and USB adaptors to it.The latest operating system the laptop could handle is W98se. W98se is obsolete but for this old laptop the W98SE OS was 100% for my intended use.

Weaknesses: No longer supported.
Summary: Cannot install this OS by CD-ROM only; it requires an 'A' drive floppy Start-up Disk to install. If you've wiped your hard-drive before install, you may need a graphics driver. Again, it is not supported. A null purchase. Buy XP at least; it will install itself on your CD-ROM and the drivers needed.
