Summary: This does what it says. Cleans and purifies the drinking water. The downside is that even if you are comfortable with your drinking water, you must have this filter on my fridge. And it must be replaced every 6 months or risk damage

Weaknesses: It only works on certain models of Maytag refrigerators.

Summary: I have well water and feel I need a water filter for my ice and water dispenser. My refrigerator uses this type water filter and I am very happy with it.

Summary: Got this filter for my Maytag fridge. Appears to do what it claims because I can tell the different in taste from regular tap water. It claims to remove other stuff and I hope it does. My fridge has a timer on when to replace the filter. However, the filter itself is not see-through so you can't tell if it needs replacement or can be used longer. Just screw it in the adapter and you are done. It is expensive so I hope to use it for more than a year or so.

Summary: I bought this for my Maytag fridge. It's very easy to install...just remove cap and twist in. Comes with a month sticker to remind you when to change. Supposedly it should last a year but my fridge's reminder light came on in about 6 months reminding me to change the filter. I just reset the reminder and continue on using it for a year to get the most out of it. Can't tell if there is any change in the water taste after that long. It's expensive but if it does what it claims then it's worth it.

Summary: I have been using these water filter cartridges for the past three years since I bought my Maytag refrigerator. I used to drink water straight from the tap, but after drinking water filtered through this, I can't stand the taste of tap water anymore. It tastes too much like chlorine. This filter removes all the nasty chlorine taste and water tastes fresh and clean! When you have one of these filters on your refrigerator, you don't need to buy bottled water because this water tastes just as good. The filters are easy to replace and I like the fact that a light comes on the refrigerator to remind when it is time to change the filter (about once a year). There's really nothing else to say--this filter does what it's supposed to do.
