Summary: This unit will effectively cool a small room using less than 500 watts of power and with only four amps of current draw. It very quickly cools the study in our house. I measured the power usage, and it easily meets the advertised specifications. This summer we will economize by keeping our central AC off most of the day and just cooling one comfortable room in our house. Consider this product if you are trying to reduce your power usage, trying to reduce your ecological "footprint" or (perhaps) if you are trying to minimize the load on your household electrical system.
