Strengths: Memory Lock feature for large items. Carrying handle. Easy to read display. No batteries and less sensitivity to harsh (cold, wet, etc.,) environments.

Weaknesses: Didn't really need 250 lb. range but the 250 lb. model is cheaper than the 100 lb. model even though both read out in 1 lb. increments!

Summary: A really great scale for use in a harsh/outdoor environment like a barn or a garage. Not as sensitive to temperature, electrical equipment and so forth as electronic models are. Probably will take a shock load (like a dropped item) better than an electronic scale. Had one of those and it worked well enough until it got too cold and then it didn't work anymore. The remote display capability that an electronic model can offer is nice but only if the scale can survive in the place and manner it will be used. This scale is pretty much bullet proof if you use it rationally. It's also not bothered by dust and so forth from flakes of hay. Buy it.

Summary: This was purchased to replace the same model we owned for many years. The new model has a sleeker, cleaner look and will hoepfully last as long as the last one! Will continue to purchase Pelouze products.
