Strengths: Easy to install, relatively light on resources

Weaknesses: None to date

Summary: I purchased as I like to have different versions of anti-virus on the home PCs. The software installed easily and has been going with no real interruption. It also seems fairly light on resources, which is good as the kids PCs are not that high-end (about 3-4yrs old).

Strengths: cheap price

Weaknesses: seems to make overall system run slower compared to others

Summary: Compared to previous versions of this software, this version is quite improved. Simple interface, large icons and a large "Fix" buttons seem to make the software more user friendly. Also Gamer Mode is a nice addition (mode minimizes protection alerts). Product default protection settings seem to cover all the bases for most users. Overall a solid virus protection software in the sub $20 category.

Strengths: Very affordable, multiple licenses for more than one computer, 2 years are better than most other offered

Weaknesses: Heavy on the Resources, Try too hard to cover all aspects

Summary: I bought this from buy.com through its special offer at the time. I have used multiple security suite in the past, from norton, mcafee to eset and iolo and kaspersky. While this is hand down better than both norton and mcafee, it ist a long way from the top dogs of eset and kaspersky. After installation of this suite, I notice a drastic slow down in my overall access. This is of course running on a 4gb core2duo laptop so I was a bit surprised at the turn of event. The updates went smoothly in a timely manner. Interface is pretty good, but I kind get a feeling that Bitdefender is trying too hard to join the Security Suite crowd instead of just focusing on its main strength of virus and trojan detection. I think it try too hard to cover all aspects but overally it's a pretty solid internet security suite, especially if you could get it through special promotion or offer.

Strengths: Inexpensive (after mail in rebate), 2-Year License, Doesn't Slow Down Computer

Weaknesses: None

Summary: This security suite from BitDefender makes a nice alternative to similar products from Norton of McAfee. I found that it doesn't slow down my system as much. It also includes 2-years of protection for three computers. It can frequently be purchased for free after mail in rebate. This product is almost identical to "BitDefender Total Security" except Internet Security doesn't include backup, clean-up and tune-up.

Strengths: effective internet security in one affordable package. low memory footprint (read less resource hog). automatic updates. minimal intrusion.

Weaknesses: not any in my experience.

Summary: works very well - much better than many other so called 'leading' security suites. is not a memory hog like Norton or McAfee. Automatically updates to newest signatures with minimal intrusion. Is routinely available for free after mail in rebates (mfr and upgrade rebates)
